Setup Guide

Follow these steps to properly set up your Aruba AP-225-F1 access point.

  1. Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the AP-225-F1 from its packaging. Verify that all components are present: the access point unit, mounting bracket, and any included documentation.
  2. Choose a Mounting Location: Select a suitable location for installation, typically on a ceiling or wall, ensuring optimal Wi-Fi coverage and proximity to a network drop and power source. Avoid obstructions that could interfere with signal transmission.
  3. Mount the Access Point: Attach the mounting bracket to the chosen surface using appropriate hardware (not always included). Securely attach the AP-225-F1 unit to the mounting bracket. Refer to the separate mounting guide for detailed instructions specific to your chosen mounting method.
  4. Connect Network Cable: Connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch or router to the primary Ethernet port (E0) on the AP-225-F1. If using Power over Ethernet (PoE), this cable will also provide power.
  5. Connect Power (if not using PoE): If your network switch does not provide PoE, connect a compatible 12V DC power adapter (sold separately) to the DC power input on the AP-225-F1.
  6. Verify LED Indicators: Once powered on, observe the LED indicators on the access point. The Power/System LED should turn solid green, indicating successful boot-up and operation. The Radio LEDs will illuminate when the wireless radios are active.
  7. Initial Configuration: Access the access point's management interface via your network to perform initial configuration, such as setting up SSIDs, security protocols, and network settings. Refer to the ArubaOS User Guide for detailed configuration instructions.

Operation

Once the Aruba AP-225-F1 is set up and configured, it will broadcast wireless networks (SSIDs) as defined in its configuration. Client devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets) can then connect to these networks.
