Setup

Powering the Unit:

The GPX BCA209S can be powered by either AC power or DC batteries.

AC Power:

  1. Ensure the unit is turned off.
  2. Locate the AC power input jack on the rear of the boombox.
  3. Insert the included AC power cable firmly into the jack.
  4. Plug the other end of the AC power cable into a standard wall outlet (120V AC, 60Hz).

DC Battery Power:

For portable use, the unit requires 6 "C" size batteries (not included).

  1. Ensure the unit is turned off and disconnected from AC power.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the boombox.
  3. Open the battery compartment cover.
  4. Insert 6 "C" size batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  5. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.

Operating Instructions

General Operation:

CD Player Operation:

  1. Set the function selector to CD mode.
  2. Open the CD compartment door located on the top of the unit.
  3. Place a CD with the label side facing up onto the CD spindle.
  4. Close the CD compartment door securely.
  5. The CD will begin playing automatically, or press the Play/Pause button.
  6. Use the Skip Forward/Back buttons to navigate between tracks.
  7. Press the Stop button to stop playback.
  8. Repeat Play: Press the Repeat button once to repeat the current track, press again to repeat all tracks on the CD.
  9. Program Play: Refer to the detailed programming instructions in the full user manual for creating custom track lists.

Cassette Player Operation:

  1. Set the function selector to TAPE mode.
  2. Open the cassette deck door.
  3. Insert a cassette tape with the open side facing up and the tape side facing the unit.
  4. Close the cassette deck door.
  5. Press the Play button to begin playback.
  6. Use the Fast Forward and Rewind buttons to quickly move through the tape.
  7. Press the Stop/Eject button to stop playback and eject the tape.
  8. Recording: To record from CD or Radio to cassette, ensure the function selector is set to CD or RADIO, then press the Record button on the cassette deck while playing the desired audio.
  9. The unit features Auto-Stop at tape end, which automatically stops playback when the tape reaches its end.

AM/FM Radio Operation:

  1. Set the function selector to AM or FM mode.
  2. For FM reception, extend the telescopic FM antenna fully. Adjust its position for optimal reception.
  3. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in AM antenna. Rotate the unit itself for best reception.
  4. Use the Tuning Knob (direct tuning) to manually tune to your desired radio station.

AUX Input Operation:

  1. Set the function selector to AUX mode.
  2. Connect an external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player) to the 3.5mm Aux In jack using a standard 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
  3. Play audio from your connected device. The sound will be output through the boombox speakers.
  4. Control volume using the boombox's volume knob and/or the connected device's volume control.

When not in use for extended periods, store the boombox in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for more than a few weeks.
