Welcome to the instruction manual for your 2014 Hallmark Frosty Friends 35th Anniversary ornament. This collectible ornament celebrates a beloved series, featuring an iconic design that brings festive cheer to any setting. Designed for display, this ornament is a cherished piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The ornament depicts a character in a boat with a polar bear and a husky, embodying the spirit of winter friendship. It is intended for indoor decorative use.
Setup
Setting up your Hallmark Frosty Friends ornament is simple.
- Unboxing: Carefully remove the ornament from its packaging. Ensure all protective materials are removed. The original box is designed to protect the ornament and can be used for storage.
- Inspection: Before hanging, inspect the ornament for any visible damage. This ornament is typically in mint condition upon purchase.
- Hanging: The ornament features a metal loop at the top for hanging. Use a sturdy ornament hook or string to securely hang it on a Christmas tree, ornament stand, or other suitable display location. Ensure the hanging point can support the ornament's weight (approximately 1 pound).
- Placement for Solar Motion (if applicable): If your ornament features "solar motion" as indicated on some packaging, place it in an area with sufficient natural or artificial light to activate the motion feature. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods to prevent fading.

Operating
This ornament is primarily a decorative item. Its "operation" pertains to its display and any integrated features.
- Display: Once hung, the ornament is ready for display. Its detailed craftsmanship is designed to be admired.
- Solar Motion Feature: If your specific ornament model includes a "solar motion" feature (often indicated on the packaging), ensure it is exposed to adequate light. The motion is typically subtle and powered by ambient light, requiring no batteries or external power source. The motion will cease in low light or darkness.
Maintenance
Proper care will ensure your ornament remains in excellent condition for years to come.
- Cleaning: To clean the ornament, gently wipe it with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the paint or finish.
- Handling: Always handle the ornament by its main body, avoiding delicate parts like the paddle or small animal figures. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to impacts.
- Storage: When not on display, store the ornament in its original packaging or a padded storage container. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity, which can cause discoloration or material degradation.

Troubleshooting
While this ornament is a simple decorative item, here are some common considerations:
- No Solar Motion: If the solar motion feature (if present) is not working, ensure the ornament is placed in an area with sufficient light. Dust or debris on the solar panel (if visible) can also impede its function; gently clean it with a soft cloth.
- Fading or Discoloration: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or harsh artificial light can cause colors to fade. Store the ornament away from such conditions when not in use.
- Damage: If the ornament sustains physical damage, it may be difficult to repair without specialized tools or knowledge. For collectible items, professional restoration might be an option, but often the value is in its original, undamaged state.
