The ARREGUI Fireproof Safe is a robust and secure storage solution designed to protect your valuable documents and belongings from fire and theft. This surface-mounted safe features an electronic locking system with a knob for opening, and it is built to withstand extreme temperatures. It is certified to American UL72 Class 350 standards for document fire resistance, ensuring contents remain safe for up to 60 minutes at external temperatures reaching 1,030°C.
Its durable construction includes a high-resistance steel and concrete body and door, along with anti-picking closures and an alarm system that activates upon incorrect code entry or forced door attempts. The safe also includes an internal programming button, a luminous screen for easy operation with helpful messages, and a tubular emergency key. It keeps a history of the last 14 openings for added security.

Setup and Installation
1. Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully remove the safe from its packaging.
- Inspect the safe for any signs of damage during transit. If damage is found, contact customer support immediately.
- Ensure all accessories, including the emergency key and mounting hardware, are present.
2. Battery Installation
The electronic lock requires 4 AA alkaline batteries (included). It is recommended to use high-quality alkaline batteries for optimal performance and longevity.
- Open the safe door using the emergency key if it is not already open.
- Locate the battery compartment, typically on the inside of the safe door (refer to image below).
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3. Wall Mounting (Optional)
The safe is designed for wall mounting to enhance security. Special screws and fixing holes are provided for installation.
- Choose a suitable location for mounting, preferably a solid wall or a secure surface.
- Mark the drilling points on the wall using the safe's pre-drilled holes as a template.
- Drill holes into the wall at the marked points.
- Position the safe and secure it to the wall using the provided special screws and mounting hardware. Ensure the safe is firmly attached and stable.
Operating Instructions
1. Initial Code Setup
Upon first use, you will need to set your personal access code.
- With the safe door open, locate the internal programming button (usually a small red button or switch).
- Press the programming button. The luminous screen on the keypad should display a prompt, such as "PROG" or "NEW CODE".
- Enter your desired new code (typically 4-8 digits) on the electronic keypad.
- Confirm the code by pressing the '#' key or a designated confirmation button. The screen should display "SUCCESS" or "OK".
- Test the new code with the door open before closing it.
2. Opening the Safe
To open the safe using your electronic code:
- Enter your personal access code on the electronic keypad.
- The screen will display "OPEN" if the code is correct.
- Within a few seconds, turn the knob clockwise to open the safe door.

3. Closing and Locking the Safe
To close and lock the safe:
- Close the safe door firmly.
- Turn the knob counter-clockwise until the door is securely latched. The electronic system will automatically lock the safe.
4. Emergency Key Override
In case of battery failure or forgotten code, the safe can be opened using the emergency tubular key.
- Locate the emergency keyhole on the electronic keypad panel.
- Insert the emergency key and turn it to unlock the safe.
- While the key is turned, turn the knob to open the door.
- Once open, you can replace batteries or reset the code.
5. Viewing Opening History
The safe records the last 14 openings. Consult the specific instructions provided with your safe for accessing this feature, as it may vary slightly.
Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
When the battery level is low, the electronic display may show a "LOW BATT" warning or the keypad lights may dim. Replace all 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for detailed steps.
2. Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
3. Lock Mechanism Care
Periodically check the locking bolts and hinges for smooth operation. Do not lubricate the electronic lock mechanism unless specifically instructed by ARREGUI technical support.
