6. Maintenance
Regular cleaning is essential for optimal performance and to prevent mineral buildup and bacterial growth.
Daily Maintenance
- Unplug the humidifier.
- Empty any remaining water from the tank and base.
- Rinse the water tank and base with fresh water.
- Allow all parts to air dry before reassembly or storage.
Weekly Cleaning (or every 3-5 days with hard water)
- Unplug the humidifier.
- Remove the water tank and mist nozzle.
- Cleaning the Water Tank: Fill the tank with a mixture of 2 tablespoons of white vinegar and 1 gallon of water. Let it stand for 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Cleaning the Base Unit: Gently wipe the inside of the base with a soft cloth dampened with white vinegar. Pay special attention to the ultrasonic transducer (the small disc in the center of the base). Do not scrub or use abrasive cleaners. Rinse the base thoroughly with clean water, being careful not to immerse the base in water or get water into the air outlet.
- Descaling: For stubborn mineral deposits, fill the base with undiluted white vinegar and let it soak for 20 minutes. Gently wipe away deposits with a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly.
- Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling.
Storage
When storing the humidifier for an extended period, ensure all parts are clean and completely dry. Store in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging.
