1. Setup Instructions
Before using your Fellowes Saturn 3i A3 Laminator, ensure it is properly set up to guarantee optimal performance and safety.
Unpacking and Placement

2. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for effective and safe lamination with your Saturn 3i A3.
Selecting Pouch Thickness
The Saturn 3i A3 is compatible with 80, 100, or 125 micron laminating pouches. Select the appropriate setting on the control panel for the thickness of the pouch you are using. Incorrect settings can lead to poor lamination quality or machine damage.
Inserting Documents
Place your document centrally within the laminating pouch, ensuring there is an even border around the edges. Insert the sealed edge of the pouch into the laminator's entry slot. The laminator will automatically feed the pouch through.

Lamination Process
Allow the laminator to complete the cycle. Once the laminated document exits the machine, place it on a flat surface to cool and harden. For best results, avoid touching the laminated document until it has fully cooled.

Jam Detection and Release
The laminator features a jam detection system. In case of a misfeed or jam, the system will alert you. Use the manual jam release lever to safely remove the misfed pouch. This prevents damage to both the document and the machine.

3. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and consistent performance of your laminator.
Cleaning the Rollers
The laminator includes a Clean Alert sensor to indicate when cleaning is recommended. To clean the rollers, feed a cleaning sheet (included in the starter kit) through the machine. This helps remove adhesive residue and dust, preventing lamination imperfections.
Auto Shut-off Feature
The laminator is equipped with an auto shut-off function that activates after 30 minutes of inactivity. This feature conserves energy and helps prolong the life of the machine. To resume operation, simply turn the power switch off and then on again.
General Care
Wipe the exterior of the laminator with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
4. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your laminator, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
Laminator Not Turning On
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the laminator and a working electrical outlet.
- Check if the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Verify the electrical outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
Document Jams
- If a pouch jams, immediately use the manual jam release lever to free the document.
- Ensure pouches are inserted straight and centered.
- Do not use pouches that are too thick for the laminator's capacity (max 125 micron).
Poor Lamination Quality (Bubbles, Wrinkles, Cloudy Finish)
- Ensure the correct temperature setting is selected for the pouch thickness.
- Feed the pouch with the sealed edge first.
- Use a cleaning sheet to clean the rollers if the Clean Alert sensor is active or if residue is visible.
- Ensure documents are flat and free of creases before lamination.
- Allow the laminated document to cool completely on a flat surface after exiting the machine.
Laminator Not Heating Up
- Confirm the power is on and the 'Ready' indicator light is not illuminated. If it's not heating, try turning the unit off and on again.
- Allow the full 60 seconds for InstaHeat technology to warm up.
