Setup
1. Power Connection:
Connect the alarm clock radio to a standard 230 Volt AC power outlet. The display will light up.
2. Installing Backup Battery:
To retain time and alarm settings during a power outage, install a CR2032 button cell battery (not included) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) when inserting the battery.
3. Setting the Time:
- Press and hold the TIME SET button (refer to product diagram for button location, typically on the back or side).
- While holding TIME SET, use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to adjust the current time.
- Release the TIME SET button to save the time.
4. Adjusting Display Brightness:
Press the DISPLAY/DIMMER button repeatedly to cycle through different brightness levels for the green LED display. Choose the level most comfortable for your environment.
Operating Instructions
1. Setting Alarms (Alarm 1 & Alarm 2):
The CL-1492 features two independent alarms.
- Press and hold the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button.
- While holding the alarm button, use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired alarm time.
- Release the alarm button.
- Press the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button repeatedly to cycle through alarm modes: Radio, Buzzer, or Off. An indicator icon will appear on the display for active alarms.
2. Snooze Function:
When an alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE button (usually located on top of the unit) to temporarily silence the alarm for approximately 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after the snooze period.
3. Disabling Alarm:
To turn off a sounding alarm, press the corresponding ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button, or the POWER/ALARM OFF button. To completely disable an alarm, cycle through its modes until "Off" is selected.
4. FM Radio Operation:
- Press the POWER button to turn on the radio.
- Press the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to manually adjust the frequency.
- Press and hold TUNE + or TUNE - for automatic station scanning.
- To save a preset: Tune to the desired station, then press and hold the MEM button. Use the PRESET + or PRESET - buttons to select a preset number (1-10), then press MEM again to confirm.
- To recall a preset: Press the PRESET + or PRESET - buttons to cycle through saved stations.
- Adjust volume using the VOL + and VOL - buttons.
5. Time Projection:
The CL-1492 features a built-in projector to display the time on a wall or ceiling.
- Adjust the projector lens (located on the left side of the unit) to direct the time display.
- Rotate the focus wheel on the projector to sharpen the projected image.
- Press the PROJECTOR ON/OFF button to activate or deactivate the projection.
- Some models may have a button to rotate the projected image 180 degrees for optimal viewing.
Maintenance
Cleaning:
Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the surface.
Battery Replacement:
If the backup battery (CR2032) is depleted, replace it promptly to ensure settings are retained during power interruptions. Follow the instructions in the "Setup" section for battery installation.
