ETCR ETCR2100A+
ETCR2100A+ Digital Clamp Ground Earth Resistance Meter Tester
Model: ETCR2100A+
1. Product Overview
The ETCR2100A+ Digital Clamp Ground Earth Resistance Meter Tester is a precision instrument designed for measuring grounding resistance in various applications without the need to disconnect grounding leads or use auxiliary electrodes. It is particularly suitable for loop system measurements and can detect ground faults that traditional methods might miss.

Key Features:
- Wide Application: Ideal for measuring grounding resistance in power, meteorology, oilfields, construction, and industrial electrical equipment.
- Advanced Functionality: Measures ground faults undetectable by traditional methods, suitable for applications where conventional meters fail. Accurately measures the combined resistance of the grounding body and lead.
- Measurement Range: Offers a wide measuring range from 0.010Ω to 200Ω with a high resolution of 0.001Ω. The clamp size is Φ32mm.
- Precision Measurement: Utilizes loop resistance measurement, combining voltage and current coils. It measures induced potential and current to calculate resistance using the formula R=E/I for precise results.
- Data Storage: Capable of storing up to 99 sets of measurement data.

Important Notice:
- CAUTION: Risk of electric shock. Be careful before opening case.
- Always use fresh batteries of the specified type.
- Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the device, slide the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The LCD display will illuminate. To power off, slide the switch to the OFF position.

3.2 Ground Resistance Measurement
The ETCR2100A+ is designed to measure loop resistance. It is not intended for single-point grounding measurements unless an artificial loop is created. The measurement principle involves inducing a potential and current to calculate resistance (R=E/I).
- Ensure the meter is powered on.
- Open the clamp jaws by pressing the trigger.
- Place the clamp around the grounding conductor or loop to be measured. Ensure the jaws are fully closed and there are no gaps.
- Read the resistance value displayed on the LCD screen.
- Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.

Note:
- If the reading is unstable, ensure proper contact and that the clamp jaws are clean.
- For detailed instructions on creating an artificial loop for single-point grounding, refer to the full user manual provided with the product.
3.3 Data Storage and Recall
The ETCR2100A+ can store up to 99 sets of measurement data.
- After a stable measurement is obtained, press the MEM button to save the current reading. The display will indicate the memory location.
- To recall stored data, press the AL button (or similar button for alarm/memory recall, depending on model variation) and use the arrow keys (< and >) to navigate through stored readings.
- Refer to the full manual for instructions on clearing memory.
4. Maintenance and Care
4.1 Cleaning
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your ETCR2100A+ tester:
- Wipe the exterior of the meter with a soft, dry cloth.
- For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild detergent, then wipe dry immediately.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or corrosive chemicals, as these can damage the casing and internal components.
4.2 Storage
When not in use, store the meter in its original carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your ETCR2100A+ tester.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Meter does not power on. | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. | Check battery polarity, replace with new AA batteries. |
| Unstable or fluctuating readings. | Poor contact with conductor, dirty clamp jaws, strong electromagnetic interference. | Ensure jaws are fully closed and clean. Move away from strong interference sources. |
| "OL" (Overload) displayed. | Resistance value exceeds the meter's maximum range (200Ω). | The resistance is too high to be measured by this device. |
| "LO" (Low Battery) displayed. | Batteries are low. | Replace all 4 AA batteries. |
If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact customer support.
