5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of your coffee machine.
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the coffee maker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove the filter basket and permanent filter. Discard used coffee grounds.
- Wash the thermos carafe, its lid, the filter basket, and the permanent filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are not dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Never immerse the main body of the coffee maker in water or any other liquid.
Descaling:
Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside your coffee maker over time, affecting brewing performance and coffee taste. Descale your appliance regularly, especially if you live in an area with hard water.
- Prepare a descaling solution. A common solution is a mixture of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water).
- Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir up to the MAX line.
- Place the empty thermos carafe on the warming plate.
- Run a full brewing cycle with the descaling solution (without coffee).
- After the cycle is complete, turn off the coffee maker and let the solution sit in the carafe for 15-20 minutes to allow it to work on stubborn deposits.
- Discard the descaling solution from the carafe and rinse the carafe thoroughly.
- Fill the water reservoir with clean, cold water and run 2-3 full brewing cycles to rinse the internal components and remove any residual vinegar taste.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your coffee machine, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |

Thermos carafe not correctly placed. | Ensure the coffee maker is plugged into a working outlet. Press "ON/OFF" or check programmed time. Fill water reservoir to the desired level. Ensure carafe is fully seated on the warming plate. |
| Coffee tastes weak. | Too little coffee grounds. Too much water. Clogged permanent filter. | Increase the amount of coffee grounds. Ensure water level matches desired cups. Clean the permanent filter thoroughly. |
| Coffee overflows from filter basket. | Too many coffee grounds. Filter basket or permanent filter is clogged. Carafe removed for too long during brewing. | Reduce the amount of coffee grounds. Clean the filter basket and permanent filter. Replace the carafe within 30 seconds when using the anti-drip feature. |
| Loud noise during brewing. | Normal operation. Mineral deposits (limescale) buildup. | This is typically normal. If excessive, perform a descaling cycle. |
