Setup

1. Unpacking

2. Connecting to a Television

The JVC HR-XVC18BU uses RCA connectors for audio and video output. Connect the unit to your television using the appropriate cables.

  1. Connect the yellow VIDEO (MONO) output jack on the HR-XVC18BU to the video input jack on your TV.
  2. Connect the white L-AUDIO output jack on the HR-XVC18BU to the left audio input jack on your TV.
  3. Connect the red R-AUDIO output jack on the HR-XVC18BU to the right audio input jack on your TV.

Ensure the TV input is set to the corresponding video input (e.g., Video 1, AV1) to view the player's output.

Operating

Front Panel Controls

The front panel of your JVC HR-XVC18BU features various controls for both DVD and VCR functions:

Basic DVD Playback

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
  2. Press the VCR/DVD button until the DVD indicator is lit.
  3. Press OPEN/CLOSE to open the disc tray.

  2. Insert a recordable VHS tape.

  4. Start playback on your external source.
  5. Press the REC button on the HR-XVC18BU to begin recording.
  6. Press STOP to end recording.
