5. Setup
5.1. Rack Mounting
The DJR20 is designed for standard 1U (1HE) rack mounting. Secure the unit into a 19-inch equipment rack using appropriate rack screws (not included) through the mounting ears on both sides of the front panel.
5.2. Power Connection
- Ensure the power switch on the front panel is in the OFF position.
- Connect the included power cable to the AC Power Inlet on the rear panel of the DJR20.
- Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable AC power outlet.
5.3. Audio Connections
- Output: Connect the RCA Line Output jacks on the rear panel of the DJR20 to the input of your amplifier, mixer, or powered speakers using RCA audio cables.
- Input (for Recording): To record from an external source, connect the RCA Line Input jacks on the rear panel of the DJR20 to the output of your audio source (e.g., mixer, CD player).
5.4. Media Insertion
- USB: Insert your USB flash drive into the USB port on the front panel.
- SD Card: Insert your SD or MMC memory card into the SD card slot on the front panel until it clicks into place.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off
Flip the Power Switch on the front panel to the ON position to power on the unit. The digital display will illuminate. Flip it to the OFF position to power off.
6.2. Playback (USB/SD)
- Insert a USB drive or SD card containing MP3 audio files. The unit will automatically detect the media and begin playback.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start or pause playback.
- Use the REWIND and FORWARD buttons to skip between tracks.
- Press the +10 TRACK button for fast track selection, advancing by 10 tracks at a time.
- Press the FOLDER button to navigate through folders on your media.
- Press the RANDOM PLAY button to toggle between Folder Random Play and Total Random Play.
- Press the REPEAT button to cycle through repeat modes (e.g., repeat one, repeat all, repeat folder).
6.3. Recording (Line Record Function)
The DJR20 allows recording of external audio sources directly to a USB drive or SD card in MP3 format (128 kbps).
- Connect your audio source to the Line Input (RCA) on the rear panel.
- Insert a USB drive or SD card with sufficient free space.
- Adjust the REC LEVEL CONTROL on the front panel to set the input recording volume. Monitor the input level on the display to avoid clipping.
- Press the RECORD button to begin recording. The display will indicate recording status.
- Press the STOP button to end the recording. The recorded file will be saved to your USB drive or SD card.
6.4. Copy Function (USB to SD / SD to USB)
The unit supports direct copying of files between a USB drive and an SD card.
- Ensure both a USB drive and an SD card are inserted into the unit.
- Press and hold the COPY button. Follow the on-screen prompts to select the source and destination for the copy operation.
6.5. Headphone Output
Connect headphones to the 1/4-inch headphone jack on the front panel. Adjust the dedicated HEADPHONE VOLUME knob to control the monitoring level.
