5. Installation Instructions

5.1 Pre-Installation

  1. Turn off the main water supply to the kitchen sink.
  2. Remove the old faucet, if applicable. Clean the sink surface thoroughly.
  3. Ensure the mounting hole on your sink or countertop is compatible with a single-hole faucet installation. If using a 3-hole sink, install the deck plate (if included) before proceeding.

5.2 Faucet Installation

  1. Install Faucet Body: Place the faucet body through the mounting hole on the sink or countertop. Ensure the rubber gasket is positioned correctly between the faucet base and the sink surface to prevent leaks.
  2. Secure Faucet: From underneath the sink, slide the rubber washer, metal washer, and mounting nut onto the threaded shank. Hand-tighten the mounting nut, then use a basin wrench or adjustable wrench to fully secure the faucet. Do not overtighten.
  3. Connect Water Lines: Connect the hot and cold water supply lines from the faucet to your angle stops. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten connections. Ensure hot water connects to the 'H' marked line and cold water to the 'C' marked line.
  4. Install Counterweight: Attach the counterweight to the pull-out hose, typically at a point that allows the sprayer to retract smoothly and fully. Adjust its position as needed for optimal retraction.
  5. Test for Leaks: Once all connections are made, slowly turn on the main water supply. Check all connections for leaks. Operate the faucet to flush out any debris and ensure proper hot and cold water flow.

6.1 Water Flow and Temperature Control

The Kraus KPF-2250 features a single lever for effortless control of both water flow and temperature:

  • Flow Control: Lift the lever upwards to increase water flow. Push it downwards to decrease or turn off the water.
  • Temperature Control: Move the lever to the left for hot water and to the right for cold water. The temperature will adjust gradually as you move the lever.

6.2 Pull-Out Sprayer Functionality

The integrated pull-out sprayer offers enhanced versatility:

  • Extend Sprayer: Gently pull the sprayer head from the spout to extend the hose.
  • Dual Function: The sprayer head features two spray modes. Press the button on the sprayer head to switch between a steady stream and a powerful spray.
  • Retract Sprayer: When finished, guide the sprayer head back into the spout. The counterweight on the hose will assist in smooth retraction.
  • Spout Swivel: The main spout swivels 120 degrees, providing ample reach and flexibility for various sink tasks.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Faucet

To maintain the finish of your Kraus faucet, follow these guidelines:

  • Clean regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and dry with a soft cloth.

7.2 Cleaning Sprayer Nozzles

Mineral deposits can accumulate on the sprayer nozzles over time, affecting water flow. To clean:

  • Gently rub the rubber nozzles with your finger or a soft brush to dislodge any mineral buildup.
  • For stubborn deposits, soak the sprayer head in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water for a few hours, then scrub and rinse.
