1. Product Overview

The Mr. Beams MB592 is a pack of two 80-lumen wireless motion-sensing LED outdoor path lights. These lights are designed to provide bright, neutral light for outdoor pathways, gardens, and other areas, covering up to 180 square feet. They feature integrated motion and light sensors to conserve battery life by activating only when motion is detected in dark conditions. The durable, weatherproof design and included ground stakes allow for quick and easy installation.

2. Safety Information

• Battery Safety: Use only the specified battery type (4 C-cell batteries per light, not included). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries. Remove depleted batteries promptly.
• Outdoor Use: While designed for outdoor use, these lights are rated as "Not Water Resistant." Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or standing water to prevent damage.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the light unit. This is typically at the base of the light head, often indicated by an "OPEN" arrow or similar marking.
2. Twist the light head counter-clockwise or slide the cover to open the battery compartment.
3. Insert 4 new C-cell batteries into each light, ensuring the correct positive (+) and negative (-) polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment securely by twisting clockwise or sliding the cover back until it clicks into place.

4.2 Ground Stake Installation

1. Attach the ground stake to the bottom of the path light unit. Ensure it is firmly seated.
2. Choose a desired location for your path light. Ensure the area is clear of obstructions that might block the motion sensor or light output.
3. Gently push the ground stake into soft soil. If the ground is hard, pre-dig a small pilot hole to avoid damaging the stake. Do not use excessive force.
4. Ensure the light is upright and stable.

4.3 Placement Recommendations

• For optimal motion detection, place lights where movement is expected, such as along walkways, near steps, or by entryways.
• The motion sensor detects movement from approximately 15 feet away. Position lights to cover the desired detection area.
• Avoid placing lights directly under other bright light sources, as the integrated light sensor will prevent activation during daylight or in well-lit conditions.
• Consider the light coverage area of 180 square feet per light when planning placement for multiple units.

5. Operating Instructions

The Mr. Beams MB592 path lights are designed for automatic, hands-free operation.

5.1 Automatic Activation

• The lights are equipped with both a motion sensor and a light sensor.
• The light sensor detects ambient light levels. The path light will only activate when it is dark enough for illumination to be useful.
• Once the light sensor determines it is dark, the motion sensor becomes active.
• When motion is detected within approximately 15 feet, the LED light will turn on automatically.

5.2 Automatic Shut-off

• After motion ceases, the light will remain on for approximately 30 seconds.
• If no further motion is detected within this period, the light will automatically turn off to conserve battery life.
• If motion continues or is re-detected, the light will remain on or reactivate.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

• When the light output appears dim or the light fails to activate, it is time to replace the batteries.
• Each light requires 4 C-cell batteries.
• Follow the battery installation steps outlined in Section 4.1. Always replace all 4 batteries with new ones simultaneously for optimal performance.
• Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.

6.2 Cleaning

• Periodically wipe the light's exterior with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or debris.
