1. Important Safety Information
Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating the chainsaw. Failure to follow these warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Eye Protection: Always wear safety glasses or goggles to protect against flying debris.

- Hearing Protection: Use ear protection during operation.

General Chainsaw Safety
- Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain when the chainsaw is operating.
- Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.

- Do not operate a chainsaw when you are tired, ill, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before inserting the battery pack.

- Maintain a firm grip on the chainsaw with both hands when power is on.
- Be aware of kickback. Kickback may occur when the moving saw chain contacts an object at the upper tip of the guide bar.

3. Setup
Battery Installation and Charging
- Ensure the chainsaw is turned off and the safety lock is engaged.
- Insert the 20V MAX lithium battery into the battery port until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the release button on the battery and slide it out.
- Charge the battery using the provided charger. Refer to the charger's instructions for charging times and indicators.

Chain Installation (if required)
- Ensure the battery is removed for safety.
- Remove the side cover by loosening the tool-less tensioning knob and disengaging the cover.
- Carefully place the chain around the sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting edges are facing the correct direction.
- Reattach the side cover and lightly tighten the tensioning knob.
Filling Bar and Chain Oil
- Unscrew the oil cap located on the top of the chainsaw.
- Fill the reservoir with appropriate bar and chain oil. Do not overfill.
- Replace the oil cap securely.
- Before each use, and periodically during operation, press the prime button on the oil cover to ensure the bar and chain are adequately lubricated.

Adjusting Chain Tension
- Ensure the battery is removed.
- Loosen the large plastic screw (tool-less tensioning knob) by turning it one full turn counter-clockwise.
- Adjust the bar left or right until there is approximately 1/8 inch of slack in the chainsaw blade.
- Tighten the large plastic screw clockwise until the chain is taut but can still be moved freely by hand.

4. Operating Instructions
Starting the Chainsaw
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly installed.
- Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands, maintaining a balanced stance.
- Press the lock-off button (safety switch) with your thumb.
- Squeeze the trigger to start the saw chain. Release the lock-off button once the chain starts moving.
Cutting Techniques
- Always ensure the saw chain is at full speed before making contact with the wood.
- Use the low-kickback bar and chain for smooth and controlled cuts.
- For branches, support the branch to prevent pinching the saw chain.
- When cutting logs, ensure they are stable and cannot roll.
- Periodically press the oil prime button during extended cutting to maintain lubrication.

5. Maintenance
General Maintenance
- Always remove the battery pack before performing any maintenance.
- Keep the chainsaw clean and free of debris. Use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust from the motor housing and chain area.
- Regularly check the chain tension and adjust as needed.
- Ensure the bar and chain oil reservoir is always filled with appropriate oil.
Chain Sharpening
The saw chain will eventually become dull with use. A dull chain will not cut efficiently and can cause excessive wear on the chainsaw. Sharpen the chain using a 4.5 mm round file. It is recommended to use a file guide to maintain correct angles.
