Setup

Physical Placement:

The RSM15A is designed for versatile placement. Its wedge shape allows it to be used as a floor monitor, projecting sound upwards towards performers. It also features a 35mm pole socket on the bottom for mounting on a speaker stand, allowing it to function as a main PA speaker.

Connecting a Microphone:

1. Connect your microphone to the LINE/MIC INPUT using an XLR or 1/4" TRS cable.
2. Ensure the input switch next to the jack is set to "MIC" mode.
3. Turn on the monitor using the POWER switch.
4. Slowly raise the LEVEL knob to achieve the desired microphone volume.

Connecting a Line-Level Instrument:

1. Connect your line-level instrument (e.g., keyboard, mixer output) to the LINE/MIC INPUT using an XLR or 1/4" TRS cable.
2. Ensure the input switch next to the jack is set to "LINE" mode.
3. Turn on the monitor using the POWER switch.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off:

Locate the POWER switch on the rear panel of the monitor. Flip the switch to the "ON" position to power on the unit. The POWER LED indicator will illuminate. To power off, flip the switch to the "OFF" position.

Adjusting Volume/Level:

Use the large LEVEL knob on the control panel to adjust the overall output volume of the monitor. Start with the knob at a low setting and gradually increase it to your desired listening level. Monitor the CLIP LED indicator; if it illuminates frequently, reduce the level to prevent distortion.

Using the 3-Band Equalizer:

The built-in 3-band EQ allows you to fine-tune the sound characteristics of your audio. Adjust the LOW, MID, and HIGH knobs to boost or cut frequencies as needed:

• LOW: Adjusts bass frequencies.
• MID: Adjusts mid-range frequencies, affecting vocal clarity and instrument presence.
• HIGH: Adjusts treble frequencies, affecting brightness and crispness.

Using the Feedback Filter:

The FEEDBACK FILTER is a crucial tool for live sound environments. It helps eliminate unwanted audio feedback (squealing or howling) by targeting specific problematic frequencies.

1. If feedback occurs, press the ON button next to the FEEDBACK FILTER knob.
2. Slowly rotate the FREQUENCY knob (ranging from 300Hz to 6KHz) until the feedback is minimized or eliminated. This allows you to cut the specific feedback frequency without significantly affecting the overall sound.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the monitor. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: When not in use, store the monitor in a dry, dust-free environment.
• Transportation: Utilize the ergonomic handles for safe transportation. Avoid dropping or subjecting the unit to severe impacts.
• Fuse Replacement: The unit features an external serviceable fuse. If the unit does not power on, check and replace the fuse if necessary. Always replace with a fuse of the same type and rating.
