Setup

  1. Unpack the Scanner: Carefully remove the MS320 scanner, USB cable, and any included documentation or companion CD from the packaging.
  2. Connect to Host Device: Insert the USB connector of the provided cable into an available USB port on your compatible device (Laptop or Desktop PC). The scanner is powered via the USB connection.
  3. Driver Installation (if necessary): For most modern operating systems, the MS320 is a plug-and-play device and drivers will install automatically. If prompted, or if the scanner does not function immediately, insert the companion CD (if included) and follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary drivers or software. Alternatively, visit the Unitech official website for the latest drivers.
  4. Verify Connection: Once connected, the scanner's LED indicator may illuminate or flash, indicating it is powered on and ready for operation.

Operating Instructions

The Unitech MS320 is designed for straightforward barcode scanning. Follow these steps for optimal performance:

  1. Prepare for Scanning: Ensure the scanner is connected to your host device and the application where you intend to input barcode data (e.g., a text editor, inventory software) is active and ready to receive input.
  2. Aim and Scan: Hold the scanner with the scanning window facing the barcode. Position the scanner so that the red scanning line (emitted when the trigger is pressed) crosses the entire barcode.
  3. Trigger Scan: Press the trigger button on the scanner. The scanner will emit a red scanning line and attempt to read the barcode.
  4. Confirmation: Upon a successful scan, the scanner will typically emit an audible beep and/or the LED indicator will flash, and the barcode data will appear in your active application. If no confirmation is received, adjust the scanner's position and try again.

The MS320 is capable of reading standard 1D barcodes and PDF420 symbologies.
