2.3. Initial Configuration

Upon first boot, the NVR will guide you through initial setup steps. You can access the NVR's interface via a connected monitor and USB mouse, or by accessing its IP address through a web browser on a computer connected to the same network. Refer to the Quick Installation Guide for default login credentials and network discovery tools.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. User Interface Overview

The NVR's user interface (UI) provides access to all functions. The main screen typically displays live camera feeds, while navigation menus allow access to settings, recording, playback, and system management.

3.2. Live View

From the main screen, you can view live video streams from all connected cameras. Use the layout options to select single-camera view, multi-camera grid, or sequence display. Digital zoom and PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) controls for compatible cameras are typically available.

3.3. Recording Management

Configure recording settings under the 'Recording' or 'Storage' menu. Options include:

  • Continuous Recording: Records 24/7.
  • Motion Detection Recording: Records only when motion is detected in the camera's view.
  • Scheduled Recording: Records during specific time periods.
  • Alarm Recording: Records upon external alarm trigger.

Ensure sufficient HDD space is available for desired recording duration. The 2TB HDD provides ample storage for 8 channels, but actual retention time depends on resolution, frame rate, and compression settings.

3.4. Playback and Export

To review recorded footage, navigate to the 'Playback' menu. Select the desired camera, date, and time. Use the timeline to navigate through recordings. Footage can typically be exported to a USB drive or network location in common video formats for external review.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Hard Drive Management

Regularly check the health status of the hard disk drive through the NVR's system settings. If the HDD shows errors or performance degradation, consider replacing it to prevent data loss. The NVR supports up to two hard drives.

4.2. Firmware Updates

Periodically check the Nuuo official website for firmware updates. Firmware updates can improve system stability, add new features, and address security vulnerabilities. Follow the provided instructions carefully when performing a firmware update to avoid system damage.

4.3. Cleaning

Keep the NVR unit clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Ensure ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
