3. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the mixer and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for storage or future transport.
  2. Placement: Place the mixer on a clean, dry, stable, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the mixer for ventilation and operation.
  3. Cleaning Before First Use: Before using for the first time, wash the mixing bowl and all accessories (whisk, dough hook, flat beater) in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely. Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth.
  4. Attaching the Mixing Bowl: Ensure the mixer head is tilted back. Place the stainless steel mixing bowl onto the base, aligning the bayonet fitting. Turn the bowl clockwise until it locks securely into place.
  5. Attaching an Accessory: With the mixer head tilted back, slide the desired accessory (e.g., whisk, dough hook, flat beater) onto the accessory shaft. Rotate the accessory until the pin on the shaft engages with the groove on the accessory, then push upwards and turn slightly to lock it.
  6. Lowering the Head: Gently lower the mixer head until it clicks into place. The safety stop mechanism will ensure the mixer does not operate if the head is not fully lowered.
  7. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

The SMEG SMF01RDEU Stand Mixer offers 10 variable speeds with a Smooth Start function for controlled mixing.

  1. Preparation: Ensure the mixer is properly assembled with the bowl and desired accessory. Add your ingredients to the mixing bowl.
  2. Selecting Speed: Turn the speed control knob to the desired speed setting (1-10). The Smooth Start function will gradually increase the speed to prevent splashing.
  3. Mixing: Allow the mixer to operate until ingredients are thoroughly combined or processed as required by your recipe.
  4. Stopping: Turn the speed control knob to the '0' (off) position to stop the mixer.
  5. Removing Ingredients/Accessory: Unplug the mixer from the power outlet. Tilt the mixer head back. Carefully remove the accessory by pushing it upwards and turning slightly to disengage the pin, then pull it off the shaft. Remove the mixing bowl by turning it counter-clockwise.

Usage Tips:

  • Always start at a lower speed and gradually increase to avoid splashing, especially with liquid ingredients.
  • Do not overload the mixer. Refer to recipe guidelines for maximum capacities.
  • If the mixer struggles or stops, it may be overloaded. Turn it off, unplug, and remove some ingredients.
