2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation and Charging
The BPR40 radio requires one Lithium Ion battery. Ensure the battery is correctly inserted into the radio. For initial use, fully charge the battery using the provided charging station. A red light on the charging station typically indicates charging, and it will change color or turn off when fully charged.

2.2 Antenna Attachment
Carefully screw the antenna into the connector on the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
2.3 Power On/Off
To power on the radio, rotate the On/Off/Volume Control knob clockwise until you hear a click. To power off, rotate it counter-clockwise until it clicks.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Volume Control
Adjust the volume by rotating the On/Off/Volume Control knob. Turn clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
3.2 Channel Selection
Use the Large Rotary Channel Selector knob on the top of the radio to choose one of the 8 available channels. Ensure all radios communicating are set to the same channel.
3.3 Push-to-Talk (PTT) Button
To transmit, press and hold the large, textured PTT button located on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the button to listen.
3.4 Programmable Buttons
The radio features two programmable buttons (P1 and P2) that can be customized for various functions such as high-low power selection, nuisance channel delete, or repeater talkaround. Refer to the full manual for programming details.
3.5 Status Indicator (Tricolor LED)

4. Maintenance

- No Power: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly installed. Check that the On/Off knob is turned clockwise.
- No Reception/Transmission: Verify that all radios are on the same channel. Check the antenna connection. Ensure you are within range. Adjust squelch levels if experiencing interference.
