3. Setup

3.1 Placement

  • Place the projector on a stable, flat surface or mount it securely to a ceiling.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the projector to prevent overheating. Do not block air vents.
  • Position the projector perpendicular to the screen for optimal image geometry.
  • The recommended projection distance varies based on desired screen size. Refer to the specifications for throw ratio details.

3.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the power cord to the projector's power inlet.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

3.3 Connecting Video Sources

The IN118HDa projector supports various input sources:

  • HDMI: Connect an HDMI cable from your source device (e.g., Blu-ray player, laptop, gaming console) to one of the HDMI ports on the projector.
  • VGA: Connect a VGA cable from your computer to the VGA In port. If necessary, connect an audio cable from your computer's audio output to the Audio In port.
  • Video In: For composite video sources, connect an RCA cable to the Video In port.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  • Power On: Press the power button on the projector's control panel or the remote control. The power indicator light will turn steady blue.
  • Power Off: Press the power button twice. The projector will enter a cooling cycle, and the fan will continue to run for a short period before shutting down completely. Do not unplug the projector during the cooling cycle.

4.2 Input Source Selection

Press the 'Source' button on the control panel or remote control to cycle through available input sources (HDMI1, HDMI2, VGA, Video). Alternatively, use the dedicated input buttons on the remote control.

4.3 Adjusting the Image

  • Focus: Rotate the focus ring on the projector lens until the image is sharp and clear.
  • Zoom: Rotate the zoom ring on the projector lens to adjust the image size.
  • Keystone Correction: If the image appears trapezoidal, use the 'Keystone' buttons on the control panel or remote to correct the image shape.

4.4 3D Operation

The IN118HDa is 3D Ready. To view 3D content:

  1. Ensure your source device is outputting 3D content (e.g., 3D Blu-ray player).
  2. Connect the source via HDMI.
  3. Wear compatible DLP Link 3D glasses (sold separately).
  4. The projector should automatically detect and display 3D content. If not, check the projector's OSD (On-Screen Display) menu for 3D settings.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Lamp Replacement
