Before First Use

Before using your new Toastmaster Mini Food Chopper for the first time, wash the chopping bowl, blade assembly, and lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry all parts completely. The motor base should only be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

Setup

  1. Place the motor base on a clean, dry, and stable surface.
  2. Place the chopping bowl onto the motor base, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  3. Carefully place the stainless steel blade assembly onto the shaft inside the chopping bowl.
  4. Add your ingredients to the chopping bowl. Do not overfill; the maximum capacity is 1.5 cups.
  5. Place the locking lid onto the chopping bowl. Align the tabs on the lid with the slots on the bowl and twist clockwise until you hear a distinct "click" sound. This indicates the lid is securely locked and the safety feature is engaged. The chopper will not operate if the lid is not properly locked.

Operating

Once the unit is assembled and the lid is securely locked, plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.

To operate, simply press down on the large pulse button located on the top of the motor base. The blades will begin to chop. Release the button to stop the chopping action. This pulse operation allows for precise control over the texture of your ingredients, from coarse to finely minced.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet before cleaning. Disassemble the chopping bowl, blade assembly, and lid from the motor base.

The chopping bowl, blade assembly, and lid are not dishwasher safe and should be washed by hand in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots and maintain blade sharpness.

The motor base should be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Unit does not turn on.Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Verify that the locking lid is properly aligned and twisted until it clicks into place, engaging the safety mechanism.
Food is not chopping evenly.Do not overfill the chopping bowl; ensure ingredients are below the maximum fill line. Use the pulse action (short bursts) rather than continuous operation for better control and more even chopping. For larger ingredients, pre-cut them into smaller, more manageable pieces before placing them in the chopper.
