4. Operating Modes
4.1 Direct Data Access
When connected to a computer via USB, the docking station functions as an external drive enclosure. Your computer should automatically detect the inserted drives (plug and play, no drivers needed for most modern operating systems). You can then access, transfer, and manage files on the drives as you would with any other external storage device.

4.2 Offline Cloning Function
The FD2002 supports offline cloning, allowing you to duplicate a source drive to a target drive without a computer connection. This is ideal for creating exact copies of hard drives for backup or system migration.
- Prepare Drives: Ensure the source drive (the drive you want to copy FROM) is inserted into the 'Source' bay and the target drive (the drive you want to copy TO) is inserted into the 'Target' bay. The target drive must be equal to or larger in capacity than the source drive.
- Disconnect from PC: Ensure the docking station is NOT connected to any computer via USB.
- Power On: Connect the power adapter and turn on the docking station.
- Initiate Cloning: Long press the 'Clone' button for 3 seconds until the indicator lights (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) begin to flash. Then, quickly press the 'Clone' button again to start the cloning process.
- Monitor Progress: The indicator lights will show the cloning progress (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%). All lights will remain solid when cloning is complete.
- Power Off: Once cloning is complete, power off the docking station before removing the drives.
WARNING: All data on the target drive will be overwritten during the cloning process. Ensure you have backed up any important data from the target drive before proceeding.

- Keep the docking station in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts.
- Regularly clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the device during operation.
8. Troubleshooting
- Drive not detected: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected and the docking station is powered on. Check that the USB cable is firmly connected to both the dock and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable. For new drives, they may need to be initialized and formatted in your computer's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac) before they appear.
- Cloning fails or is incomplete: Verify that the target drive's capacity is equal to or larger than the source drive's capacity. Ensure the docking station is disconnected from the computer during offline cloning. Check for any errors indicated by the progress lights.
- Slow transfer speeds: Ensure you are using a USB 3.0 port on your computer and the provided USB 3.0 cable. Older USB 2.0 ports will result in slower speeds. The speed of the hard drive itself also affects transfer rates.
