Introduction

This manual provides important instructions for the safe operation and maintenance of your Optimus H-6003 Portable Oil Filled Radiator Heater. Please read all instructions carefully before using the appliance and retain this manual for future reference.

The Optimus H-6003 is a mini portable oil-filled radiator heater designed to provide supplemental heat. It features a 700-watt heat output, permanently sealed special diathermic oil, and automatic thermostat control.

Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, observe the following:

  • Read all instructions before using this heater.
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  • Always unplug heater when not in use.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  • To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.
  • Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Retain packaging for off-season storage.
  2. Placement: Place the heater on a firm, level surface. Ensure it is at least 3 feet (0.9 m) away from walls, furniture, and other combustible materials. This heater is designed for indoor use only.
  3. Power Connection: Ensure the heater is in the "OFF" position before plugging it into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord or power strip.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Plug the heater into a suitable electrical outlet. Turn the power switch to the "ON" position. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Setting the Thermostat:
    • Rotate the thermostat dial clockwise towards "HIGH" for maximum heat output.
    • Once the room reaches the desired temperature, slowly turn the thermostat dial counter-clockwise until the heater turns off. The heater will then cycle on and off automatically to maintain the set temperature.
    • For lower heat output, set the dial closer to "LOW".
  3. Power Off: To turn off the heater, rotate the thermostat dial to the "OFF" position, then turn the power switch to "OFF". Unplug the heater from the wall outlet when not in use.

Note: The heater is designed for supplemental heating and is suitable for personal use or warming small areas. It may take some time for the oil-filled radiator to reach its full operating temperature and effectively warm a space.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Do not immerse the heater in water or allow water to drip into the interior.

Storage:

  • Store the heater in a cool, dry location when not in use.
  • It is recommended to store the heater in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.

  • Adjust thermostat to a slightly higher or lower setting.
  • Check for obstructions. If problem persists, discontinue use and contact support.
