Setup and Initial Use
Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts are present: the mill unit, charging base, and power adapter. Remove any protective films or labels from the unit.
Charging the Unit
Before first use, fully charge the mill. Place the mill onto its charging base. Connect the power adapter to the charging base and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The charge/ready light on the base will indicate the charging status. A full charge ensures optimal performance.

Filling the Mill
The Cuisinart SG-3 features two transparent grinding containers for different spices. To fill, twist the upper or lower section of the mill to unlock and separate the container from the main body. Fill with your desired whole spices, such as peppercorns, sea salt, or dried herbs. Reattach the container by aligning the arrows and twisting to lock it securely in place.

Operating Your Spice Mill
Grinding Spices
To grind, simply press and hold the button located on the main body of the mill. The mill will activate, grinding the spices from the selected compartment. Release the button to stop grinding. The cordless design allows for easy use anywhere in your kitchen or dining area.
Adjusting Grind Coarseness
The mill offers adjustable grind settings. To change the coarseness, locate the adjustment mechanism at the bottom of each grinding compartment. Turn clockwise for a finer grind and counter-clockwise for a coarser grind. Experiment to find your preferred consistency for different dishes.
Measuring Ground Spices

Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the mill, remove the grinding containers and the removable crumb tray from the charging base. Wipe the exterior of the mill and the charging base with a damp cloth. The grinding containers can be hand-washed with warm, soapy water. Do not immerse the main mill unit or charging base in water. This product is not dishwasher safe. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling.
Troubleshooting
Mill Not Operating
- Ensure the unit is fully charged. The charge/ready light should indicate a full charge.
- Verify that the grinding containers are properly attached and locked into place.
- Check that the button is being pressed firmly.
Inconsistent Grind
- Adjust the grind coarseness setting as described in the 'Operating Your Spice Mill' section.
- Ensure the grinding mechanism is clean and free of obstructions.
