4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for engine performance and safety. If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified mechanic.
4.1 Pre-Installation Checks
- Compatibility: Verify that the engine's mounting points and electrical connectors are compatible with your ATV chassis. Pay special attention to the electrical plug-in. If not compatible, an adapter may be required.
- Fluid Levels: Ensure the engine oil is at the correct level before initial start-up. The lubrication capacity is 900ml (0.20 Gallon) of SF15W/40-SE oil.
- Fuel System: Inspect the fuel lines and carburetor for any obstructions or damage.
4.2 Electrical Connections
Connect the engine's wiring harness to the ATV's electrical system. Ensure all connections are secure and free from corrosion.

4.3 Mounting the Engine
Secure the engine to the ATV frame using appropriate mounting hardware. Ensure all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications for the ATV chassis.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Engine
- Ensure the ATV is in neutral and the parking brake is engaged.
- Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.
- If the engine is cold, engage the choke.
- Press the electric start button. Release once the engine starts.
- Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before riding. Disengage the choke as the engine warms.
5.2 Riding with Automatic Transmission
This engine features an automatic transmission. Simply apply throttle to move forward. The transmission will automatically adjust gears based on speed and load.
5.3 Shutting Down the Engine
To turn off the engine, simply turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity and optimal performance of your engine.
6.1 Engine Oil
- Check Oil Level: Check the engine oil level before each ride.
- Oil Change: Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50-100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use SF15W/40-SE lubrication model oil. The capacity is 900ml (0.20 Gallon).
6.2 Spark Plug
- Inspection: Inspect the spark plug (Model: A7TC) every 100 hours or annually. Clean or replace if necessary.
- Gap: Ensure the spark plug gap is set to the manufacturer's specification.
6.3 Air Filter
Clean or replace the air filter regularly, especially when operating in dusty conditions. A clogged air filter can reduce engine performance and lifespan.
6.4 Fuel System
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87# or higher. Periodically check fuel lines for cracks or leaks.
7. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine does not start | No fuel, weak battery, faulty spark plug, electrical connection issue. | Check fuel level, charge/replace battery, inspect/replace spark plug, verify all electrical connections. |
| Engine runs poorly/lacks power | Clogged air filter, dirty carburetor, incorrect fuel, old spark plug. | Clean/replace air filter, clean carburetor, use fresh 87#+ fuel, replace spark plug. |
| Excessive smoke from exhaust | Incorrect oil level, worn engine components. | Check oil level and type. If issue persists, consult a mechanic. |
| Engine overheats | Insufficient airflow (air-cooled), low oil level. | Ensure cooling fins are clean and unobstructed. Check oil level. |
