Setup

1. Connecting to a Computer

Connect the DDJ-SX2 to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Serato DJ.

2. Power Connection

Connect the AC adapter (not included in all packages, check your specific model) to the DC IN 5V port on the rear panel of the DDJ-SX2, then plug it into a power outlet. Turn on the power switch.

3. Audio Connections

Connect your speakers or amplifier to the MASTER OUT 1 (XLR) or MASTER OUT 2 (RCA) terminals. For booth monitoring, use the BOOTH OUT (RCA) terminals. Connect headphones to the front panel headphone jack.

Operating Instructions

1. Software Installation

Install Serato DJ software on your computer. The DDJ-SX2 is designed for seamless integration with Serato DJ. Ensure you have the latest drivers and software updates from the Pioneer DJ website.

2. Basic Playback

  1. Load a track onto a deck in Serato DJ.
  2. Use the PLAY/PAUSE button to start and stop playback.
  3. Adjust the track's tempo using the TEMPO slider.
  4. Use the JOG WHEEL for scratching, nudging, and searching through tracks.

3. Performance Features

  • Performance Pads: Use the multi-colored performance pads for Hot Cues, Roll, Slicer, and Sampler functions.

Maintenance

Troubleshooting

No Power

  • Ensure the AC adapter is securely connected to both the controller and a working power outlet.
  • Verify the power switch on the rear panel is in the ON position.

No Sound Output

  • Check all audio cable connections to your speakers/amplifier.
  • Verify volume levels on the DDJ-SX2 (Master, Channel Faders) and in Serato DJ.
  • Ensure the correct audio device (DDJ-SX2) is selected in your computer's sound settings and Serato DJ preferences.

Controller Not Recognized by Computer

  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and the computer.
  • Try a different USB port or USB cable.
  • Reinstall the latest drivers for the DDJ-SX2 from the Pioneer DJ website.
  • Restart your computer and the DDJ-SX2.
