3. Setup and Installation
Note: Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
3.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Inspect all parts for any damage. Do not proceed with installation if any damage is observed.
- Ensure all listed components are present: rail, 5 spotlights, mounting hardware, and 5 GU10 LED bulbs.
3.2 Mounting the Rail
- Turn off the main power supply at the circuit breaker.
- Mark the desired mounting location on the ceiling. Use a level to ensure the rail will be straight.
- Drill pilot holes for the mounting brackets, ensuring they align with the rail's attachment points.
- Secure the mounting brackets to the ceiling using appropriate screws and anchors for your ceiling type.
- Attach the rail to the secured mounting brackets.
3.3 Electrical Connection
- With the power still off, connect the household electrical wires to the fixture's wiring according to local electrical codes (typically: Live to Live, Neutral to Neutral, Ground to Ground).
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.
- Carefully tuck the wires into the junction box and secure the canopy to the ceiling.
3.4 Installing Spotlights and Bulbs
- Attach each spotlight to the rail by aligning the connectors and twisting until secure.
- Insert the GU10 LED bulbs into each spotlight socket. Gently push and twist clockwise until the bulb is seated.
- Adjust the direction of each spotlight as desired.
4. Operating Instructions
Once installed and power is restored, the Paul Neuhaus GRANBY LED Rail Lamp operates like any standard light fixture controlled by a wall switch.
- Turning On/Off: Use the connected wall switch to turn the lamp on or off.
- Adjusting Spotlights: Each spotlight can be individually rotated and tilted to direct light to specific areas. Gently adjust the spotlight heads to achieve the desired illumination angle.
Note: The included LED bulbs are not dimmable. Do not connect this fixture to a dimmer switch unless the bulbs are replaced with dimmable GU10 LEDs and the dimmer is compatible.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Always turn off the power and allow the fixture to cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes, as these can damage the finish.
5.2 Bulb Replacement
The Paul Neuhaus GRANBY LED Rail Lamp uses GU10 LED bulbs. While the included bulbs have a long lifespan (approximately 15,000 hours), they will eventually need replacement.
- Turn off the power supply to the fixture at the circuit breaker.
- Allow the bulb to cool completely if it was recently in use.
- Gently push the old GU10 bulb into its socket and twist counter-clockwise to remove it.
- Insert the new GU10 LED bulb by aligning its pins with the socket holes, pushing gently, and twisting clockwise until it is seated securely.
- Restore power to the fixture.
Ensure replacement bulbs match the specifications (GU10 LED, 4W, 400lm, 3000K) for optimal performance and compatibility. The original bulbs are not dimmable.
