3. Setup
Before first use, and for each ironing session, follow these steps:
- Unpacking: Remove all packaging materials and labels from the iron.
- First Use: It is normal for a slight odor or smoke to occur during the first use as manufacturing residues burn off. This will disappear after a short time.
- Filling the Water Tank:
- Ensure the iron is unplugged.
- Open the water inlet cover.
- Fill the water tank with tap water up to the 'MAX' mark. Do not overfill. For areas with very hard water, consider using a mixture of tap water and distilled water (50% each). Do not use perfumed water, water from tumble dryers, or chemically descaled water.

- Plugging In: Plug the iron into a suitable grounded electrical outlet (240V).
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Temperature Setting
Turn the temperature dial to select the appropriate setting for your fabric type. Refer to the garment care label. The indicator light will illuminate while the iron is heating and turn off when the selected temperature is reached.
- Low Temperature: Synthetics, Silk
- Medium Temperature: Wool, Cotton
- High Temperature: Linen
4.2 Steam Ironing
Steam ironing is recommended for most fabrics. Ensure the water tank is filled and the temperature dial is set to a steam-appropriate setting (usually between two and three dots on the dial).
- Continuous Steam: Adjust the steam regulator to the desired steam level.
- Steam Shot: Press the steam shot button for an extra burst of steam to remove stubborn wrinkles. Wait a few seconds between shots to allow the iron to reheat.
- Vertical Steam: Hold the iron vertically a few centimeters away from hanging garments. Press the steam shot button to release steam. This is ideal for curtains, suits, and delicate fabrics.
4.3 Dry Ironing
For dry ironing, ensure the steam regulator is set to the 'no steam' position. Select the desired temperature and iron without steam.
4.4 Anti-drip System
The anti-drip system prevents water from dripping from the soleplate when the iron's temperature is too low for steam production. This helps avoid water stains on your clothes.

Figure 4: Anti-drip Feature. This image shows the soleplate with a 'no drip' symbol, indicating the iron's anti-drip functionality to prevent water leakage.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your iron.
5.1 Self-Clean Function
Use the self-clean function regularly (e.g., once a month) to remove scale and impurities from the steam chamber.
- Fill the water tank to the 'MAX' level.
- Set the temperature dial to maximum.
- Plug in the iron and wait for the indicator light to turn off, signaling it has reached maximum temperature.
- Unplug the iron.
- Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press and hold the self-clean button (if available, or the steam shot button if it doubles as self-clean) while gently shaking the iron back and forth. Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, carrying impurities.
- Continue until the water tank is empty.
- Plug the iron back in and let it heat up to dry the soleplate.
- Unplug and let it cool completely before storing.
5.2 Cleaning the Soleplate
- Ensure the iron is unplugged and cool.
- Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary.
- Do not use abrasive scouring pads or metal cleaners, as these can damage the CeraniumGlissée coating.
5.3 Storage
After each use, empty the water tank, unplug the iron, and allow it to cool completely before storing it in an upright position.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter problems with your iron, consult the table below before contacting customer service.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Iron does not heat up. | Not plugged in; power outlet faulty; temperature dial set to 'OFF'. | Check power connection; test outlet with another appliance; turn temperature dial to a heat setting. |
| No steam or insufficient steam. | Water tank empty; temperature too low for steam; steam regulator set to 'no steam'. | Fill water tank; set temperature to steam zone (e.g., 2 or 3 dots); adjust steam regulator. |
| Water drips from soleplate. | Temperature too low for steam (anti-drip active); iron not hot enough for steam shot. | Allow iron to reach full temperature before using steam; wait a few seconds between steam shots. |
| White flakes or brown stains on clothes. | Mineral deposits (scale) in the iron. | Perform the self-clean function. Use distilled water or a mix with tap water in hard water areas. |
