Operating Instructions
Initial Startup
After installation, allow the refrigerator to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it into a power outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
Temperature Control
The Midea WHS-87LSS1 features a mechanical temperature control. The temperature adjustment ranges from -2°C to 2°C (32°F to 35.6°F). Turn the thermostat dial to your desired setting. A higher number typically indicates a colder temperature.

Power Outage
In case of a power outage, keep the refrigerator door closed to maintain temperature for as long as possible. Avoid opening the door unnecessarily.
Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer service, please refer to the following common issues and their solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerator does not operate. | Not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped; temperature control set to "OFF". | Ensure plug is secure; reset circuit breaker; turn temperature control to a desired setting. |
| Temperature is not cold enough. | Door opened too frequently; large amount of warm food added; poor ventilation; temperature control set too warm. | Minimize door openings; allow warm food to cool before placing in fridge; ensure adequate space around unit; adjust temperature control to a colder setting. |
| Excessive frost buildup. | Door not closed properly; high humidity; frequent door openings. | Check door seal and ensure it closes completely; avoid opening door unnecessarily; perform manual defrost as needed. |
| Unusual noises. | Refrigerator not level; objects vibrating against the unit; normal operating sounds. | Adjust leveling legs; ensure nothing is touching the back or sides of the unit; gurgling or humming sounds are normal. |
