Setup
Initial Charging
Before first use, ensure the pump unit is fully charged. Connect the power cord to the pump unit and plug it into a power outlet. The battery indicator on the display will flash while charging. A full charge is indicated when the battery icon is solid.
Assembling the Pump Kit
- Attach the duckbill valve firmly to the bottom of the breast flange.
- Connect the backflow protector to the top of the breast flange.
- Screw the wide neck storage bottle onto the bottom of the breast flange assembly.
- Connect one end of the tubing to the backflow protector and the other end to the port on the top of the pump unit. For single pumping, ensure the unused port is capped. For double pumping, remove the cap and connect the second tubing.

Operating the Pump
Power On/Off
Press the power button (green circle) to turn the pump on. The display will illuminate. To turn off, press the power button again.
Modes and Vacuum Adjustment
The Spectra 9 Plus offers two primary modes: Massage Mode and Expression Mode. You can switch between these modes using the 'Massage' button (three waves icon).
- Massage Mode: This mode simulates the natural suckling of a baby to help initiate let-down. You can adjust the vacuum level from L1 to L5 using the '+' and '-' buttons.
- Expression Mode: Once let-down occurs, switch to Expression Mode for milk collection. You can adjust the vacuum level from L1 to L10 using the '+' and '-' buttons.
