3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The DR-60DmkII requires 4 AA batteries. Open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the unit and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the cover securely.
3.2 SD Card Installation
The device supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards. Locate the SD card slot on the side of the unit. Insert the SD card until it clicks into place. To remove, push the card gently to release it.
3.3 Connecting Microphones and Inputs
Connect your microphones or line-level sources to the appropriate inputs:
- XLR/TRS Combo Inputs (1/L, 2/R): For professional microphones requiring phantom power or line-level signals.
- 3.5mm Stereo Input (3-4): For wireless receivers, lavalier mics, or other stereo sources. This input supports high-level signals up to +10dBV.
3.4 Connecting to a Camera

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button to turn the unit on or off.
4.2 Recording Modes
The DR-60DmkII offers various recording modes to suit different scenarios:
- MONO/DUAL MONO: Ideal for single source microphones. Dual Mono records a safety track at a lower level.
- STEREO/DUAL STEREO: For stereo or mid-side microphones. Dual Stereo records a safety track at a lower level.
- 4CH Mode: Records all four microphone inputs to their own tracks.

4.3 Input Level Adjustment & Phantom Power
Adjust input levels using the dedicated gain knobs for each channel. For microphones requiring phantom power, activate the 48V phantom power feature via the menu settings.
4.4 Internal Digital Mixer
Utilize the internal mixer to fine-tune your audio:
- Limiter: Prevents audio clipping.
- High-Pass Filter: Reduces unwanted low-frequency noise (40/80/120Hz options).
- Pan & Level: Adjust individual channel panning and volume.
4.5 Slate Tone Generator
The internal slate tone generator produces tones for easy track making and recognition. Slate tones can be generated automatically at the beginning/end of clips or manually by pressing the SLATE button.
