4. Product Overview

The Neewer NW-565 EXN Speedlite Flash is a high-performance external flash unit designed for Nikon DSLR cameras. It offers a super-fast recycle time of 2.9 seconds at full power and can be accelerated with an external power pack. 5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The NW-565 EXN uses four AA-sized batteries. Open the battery compartment cover located on the side of the flash unit. Insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-) inside the compartment. Close the cover securely.

5.2 Mounting on Camera

Slide the flash's hot shoe mount into your camera's hot shoe. Once fully inserted, turn the locking knob clockwise to secure the flash firmly to the camera. To remove, turn the locking knob counter-clockwise and slide the flash off.

6. Operating Modes

The NW-565 EXN offers several operating modes to suit various lighting needs. Use the 'MODE' button to cycle through the available modes.

  • TTL Mode: (Through-The-Lens) The flash automatically determines the optimal light output based on the camera's metering system.
  • M Mode: (Manual) Allows you to manually set the flash power output from 1/1 (full power) to 1/128.
  • FEB Mode: (Flash Exposure Bracketing) Automatically fires three flashes at different exposure levels.
  • Slave Mode (S1/S2): Enables the flash to be triggered wirelessly by another flash unit.

7. Advanced Features

7.1 Zoom Function

The flash features an auto/manual zoom head with a range of 18mm to 180mm. In auto mode, the flash zoom adjusts automatically to match the focal length of your lens. In manual mode, you can set the zoom head position manually to control the flash coverage.

7.2 Wireless Triggering

The NW-565 EXN supports wireless induction triggering, allowing it to function as a slave unit. The wireless flash distance is approximately 20-30 meters (65-98 feet) indoors and 10-15 meters (32-49 feet) outdoors.
