Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to safely operate your Hiland patio heater:
Connecting the Propane Tank:
- Ensure the heater's control knob is in the "OFF" position.
- Open the access door at the base of the heater.
- Place the 20 lb propane tank upright in the tank holder.
- Connect the regulator hose to the propane tank valve. Tighten securely by hand.
- Slowly open the propane tank valve fully.
- Close the access door.

Lighting the Heater:
- Turn the variable control knob to the "PILOT" position.
- Press and hold the igniter button (red button) for 15-30 seconds until the pilot flame ignites. You may need to repeat this several times.
- Once the pilot is lit, continue to hold the igniter button for another 30 seconds, then release. The pilot should remain lit.
- Turn the variable control knob to the "LOW" position, then slowly rotate it to the desired heat setting ("HIGH" or "LOW").
- The flame will travel up the quartz glass tube, providing heat and ambiance.
Turning Off the Heater:
- Turn the variable control knob to the "OFF" position.
- Close the valve on the propane tank completely.
- Allow the heater to cool down completely before moving or storing.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater.
- Cleaning: Clean exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
