Setup and Adjustment

3. Shoulder Strap Adjustment

Tighten the shoulder straps until the backpack feels snug against your back. Avoid overtightening, as the hip belt should carry the primary load.

4. Sternum Strap Adjustment

Fasten the sternum strap across your chest and adjust its height and tension for comfort. This strap helps stabilize the load and keeps shoulder straps from slipping.

5. Load Lifter Straps

These straps are located above your shoulders, connecting the top of the shoulder straps to the main pack body. Adjust them to pull the top of the pack closer to your body, improving stability.

Operating the Backpack

Loading the Backpack

  • Place heavy items close to your back and centered between your shoulder blades.
  • Distribute weight evenly to maintain balance.
  • Utilize the utility pockets and external cords for smaller, frequently accessed items.

Rain Cover Usage

The backpack includes a water-resistant rain cover to protect your belongings from moisture. Locate the integrated rain cover, typically stored in a dedicated pocket at the bottom of the pack. Pull it over the entire backpack when rain is anticipated.

Maintenance

Cleaning Instructions

  • Hand Wash Only: Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, or dry clean the backpack.
  • Use a soft brush or sponge with lukewarm water and mild soap to clean soiled areas.
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Air dry the backpack completely in a shaded, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure all compartments are open during drying.

Storage

Store the backpack in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to prolong its lifespan.

Troubleshooting

  • Discomfort or Shoulder Pain: Re-adjust the hip belt to ensure it carries most of the weight. Check shoulder strap tension and sternum strap position. Ensure the load lifters are properly adjusted.
  • Unstable Load: Ensure heavy items are packed close to your back. Use compression straps (if available) to cinch down the load and prevent shifting.
  • Zippers Sticking: Apply a small amount of zipper lubricant or graphite from a pencil to the zipper teeth. Avoid forcing stuck zippers.
