Pre-Installation Checklist

  1. Power Off: Ensure power to your existing sprinkler controller is completely turned off at the breaker.
  2. Document Wiring: Before disconnecting any wires, take clear photos of your current controller's wiring. This will serve as a crucial reference for connecting wires to your new Skydrop controller. Note which wire corresponds to each zone number and common (C) terminal.
  3. Remove Old Controller: Carefully unscrew and remove your old sprinkler controller from the wall.

Wiring Your Skydrop Controller

The Skydrop controller features a user-friendly wiring system that does not require a screwdriver for zone connections.

  1. Mount the Bracket: Secure the blue mounting bracket to the wall using the provided screws. Utilize the built-in bubble level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal.
  2. Feed Wires: Carefully feed your sprinkler zone wires and the common (C) wire through the opening at the bottom of the mounting bracket.
  3. Connect Wires: Insert each stripped wire end into its corresponding terminal on the mounting bracket. The common wire typically goes into the 'C' terminal, and zone wires go into numbered terminals (1-8). Refer to your pre-installation photos.
  4. Connect AC Power: Plug the AC power adapter's small connector into the designated port on the mounting bracket.
  5. Attach Head Unit: Align the Skydrop head unit with the mounting bracket and firmly snap it into place.
