1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your NEC NP3250W Wireless LCD Digital Projector. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the projector and retain it for future reference.

2. Safety Information

Observe the following safety precautions to prevent fire, electric shock, or injury:

• Power Source: Use only the power supply specified for this projector. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet.
• Ventilation: Do not block ventilation openings. Ensure adequate space around the projector for proper airflow to prevent overheating.

4. Setup

4.1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the projector from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage. If the projector was purchased without a lamp, ensure a compatible lamp is acquired and installed before operation. Refer to Section 6.1 for lamp installation instructions.

4.2. Projector Placement

Place the projector on a stable, level surface or mount it securely. Ensure the projector is positioned at an appropriate distance from the screen to achieve the desired image size. Maintain adequate clearance around the ventilation openings.

4.3. Connecting Power

1. Connect the power cord to the AC IN port on the rear of the projector (refer to Figure 3.4).
2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

4.4. Connecting Input Sources

The NP3250W offers various input options:

• Computer (VGA/DVI-D): Use a VGA or DVI-D cable to connect your computer to the 'COMPUTER 1 IN' or 'COMPUTER 2 IN' ports.
• Component Video: Connect component video cables (YPbPr) to the 'COMPONENT IN' ports.
• S-Video: Connect an S-Video cable to the 'S-VIDEO IN' port.
• Composite Video: Connect a composite video cable (yellow RCA) to the 'VIDEO IN' port.
• Audio: Connect audio cables to the corresponding 'AUDIO IN' ports for each video input, or use the dedicated 'AUDIO IN' ports for general audio input.
• LAN/USB: For network and USB connectivity, refer to Section 5.3 for detailed instructions.

5. Operating the Projector

5.1. Powering On and Off

1. Power On: Press the POWER button on the projector's top panel or the remote control. The power indicator light will turn green.
2. Power Off: Press the POWER button again. A confirmation message may appear. Press POWER once more to confirm shutdown. The projector will enter a cooling cycle, and the power indicator will flash before turning off. Do not unplug the projector during the cooling cycle.

5.2. Basic Image Adjustments

• Focus: Rotate the FOCUS ring on the lens or use the 'FOCUS' dial on the top panel (refer to Figure 3.3) until the image is sharp.
• Zoom: Rotate the ZOOM ring on the lens to adjust the image size.
• Lens Shift: Use the LENS SHIFT dials on the top panel (refer to Figure 3.3) to vertically or horizontally adjust the image position without moving the projector.
• Keystone Correction: If the image appears trapezoidal, use the 'KEYSTONE' function in the projector's OSD (On-Screen Display) menu to correct it.
• Source Selection: Press the SOURCE button on the top panel or remote control to cycle through available input sources.
• Menu Navigation: Use the MENU button and arrow keys on the top panel (refer to Figure 3.3) to access and navigate the projector's settings menu. Press ENTER to confirm selections.

5.3. Wireless Connectivity

The NEC NP3250W supports wireless projection. To utilize this feature:

1. Ensure a compatible wireless adapter (if not built-in) is connected to the projector's USB port.
2. Access the 'Network' or 'Wireless' settings within the projector's OSD menu.
3. Configure the wireless settings to connect to your local Wi-Fi network or establish a direct connection with a compatible device.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions or refer to the detailed network guide for specific software installation on your computer or mobile device for wireless transmission.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your projector.

6.1. Lamp Replacement

Important Note: The product description indicates 'Missing Lamp'. A new lamp must be installed before the projector can be operated.

The projector lamp has a limited lifespan. When the 'LAMP' indicator light illuminates or a warning message appears, the lamp needs replacement. Always use genuine NEC replacement lamps.

1. Power Off and Cool Down: Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord. Allow at least 60 minutes for the lamp to cool completely. The lamp operates at high temperatures and can cause severe burns if handled while hot.
2. Locate Lamp Cover: Identify the lamp cover on the projector casing.
3. Remove Cover: Loosen the screw(s) securing the lamp cover and carefully remove it.
4. Remove Old Lamp: Loosen the screw(s) holding the lamp module in place. Carefully pull the lamp module straight out.
5. Install New Lamp: Gently insert the new lamp module, ensuring it is seated correctly. Tighten the screw(s) to secure it.
6. Replace Cover: Reattach the lamp cover and tighten its screw(s).
7. Reset Lamp Timer: After replacing the lamp, you must reset the lamp timer in the projector's OSD menu to accurately track lamp usage. Refer to the OSD menu for 'Lamp Reset' options.

6.2. Air Filter Cleaning

The air filter prevents dust from entering the projector and affecting performance. Clean the filter regularly (e.g., every 100-200 hours of use).

1. Power Off and Cool Down: Turn off and unplug the projector. Allow it to cool.
2. Locate Filter Cover: Identify the air filter cover, typically on the side or bottom of the projector.
3. Remove Filter: Open the cover and carefully remove the air filter.
4. Clean Filter: Use a small vacuum cleaner or a soft brush to remove dust from the filter. Do not wash the filter with water.
5. Reinstall Filter: Place the clean filter back into its slot and close the cover securely.

Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lens surface to remove dust or smudges. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or excessive force.
