This manual provides instructions for the proper use and care of your Salter 1046 RDDR Digital Kitchen Scales. Please read this manual thoroughly before initial use and retain it for future reference. These scales are designed for accurate measurement of food ingredients in a home kitchen environment.
Important Safety Information
- Always use the scales on a firm, flat, and level surface to ensure accurate readings.
- Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids. The unit is not dishwasher safe.
- Avoid exposing the scales to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
- Do not overload the scales beyond the maximum capacity of 5 kg (11 lbs).
- Keep batteries out of reach of children. Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Setup
Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scales.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert the supplied CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) terminal faces upwards.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- To turn on: Press the ON-ZERO-OFF button. The display will show '8888' then '0'.
- To turn off: Press and hold the ON-ZERO-OFF button for a few seconds, or the scales will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity.
Weighing Ingredients
- Place the scales on a flat, stable surface.
- Press the ON-ZERO-OFF button to turn on the scales.
- Ensure the display shows '0' before placing any items on the platform.
- Place the item(s) to be weighed directly onto the stainless steel platform. The weight will be displayed.

Unit Conversion (g/oz/lb)
The scales can display measurements in grams (g), ounces (oz), or pounds (lb).
- With the scales on and displaying '0', press the UNIT button to cycle through the available units.
- The selected unit will be indicated on the LCD display.

Add & Weigh (Tare Function)
The Add & Weigh function allows you to measure multiple ingredients consecutively in the same bowl without emptying it.
- Place the first ingredient (or an empty bowl) on the scales. Note its weight.
- Press the ON-ZERO-OFF button. The display will reset to '0'.
- Add the next ingredient to the bowl. The display will show the weight of only the newly added ingredient.
- Repeat this process for all subsequent ingredients.

Liquid Measurement (Aquatronic™)
The scales feature Aquatronic™ technology, allowing for the measurement of liquids in millilitres (ml) or fluid ounces (fl.oz).
- Turn on the scales and ensure the display shows '0'.
- Press the UNIT button repeatedly until 'ml' or 'fl.oz' is displayed.
- Place the liquid in a container on the scales. The volume will be displayed.
- Note: This function is most accurate for water. Other liquids may have different densities, leading to slight variations in measurement.

Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the scales with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water. The stainless steel platform is hygienic and easy to clean.
- Storage: Store the scales in a cool, dry place. Avoid placing heavy objects on the scales when not in use.
- Battery Replacement: If the display shows 'Lo' or becomes dim, replace the CR2032 battery.
Troubleshooting
