Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack the Pumps: Carefully remove the wavemaker pumps and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any visible damage.
  2. Choose Placement: Select a suitable location within your aquarium for the wavemaker. Consider areas where water circulation is poor or where debris tends to accumulate. The pump should be fully submerged.
  3. Attach Suction Cup: Ensure the suction cup is clean. Press the suction cup firmly against the inner glass surface of the aquarium to secure the pump. The ball joint allows for angle adjustment.
  4. Adjust Direction: Rotate the pump head to direct the water flow as desired. The 360-degree rotation feature allows for precise targeting of water movement.
  5. Connect Power: Ensure your hands are dry. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. It is recommended to use a drip loop to prevent water from traveling along the cord to the outlet.

Safety Warning: Always ensure the pump is fully submerged before connecting to power. Never operate the pump dry. Disconnect power before performing any maintenance or adjustments.

Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and submerged, the SunSun JVP-110 wavemaker pumps operate continuously when plugged in. There are no external controls for speed or on/off functionality on the pump itself.

  • Power On/Off: To turn the pump on or off, simply plug or unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  • Adjusting Flow: The direction of water flow can be adjusted by rotating the pump head on its ball joint. Experiment with different angles to achieve optimal water circulation in your aquarium.
  • Timer Use: For intermittent operation, you may connect the pump to an external aquarium timer (not included).

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your wavemaker pumps.

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the power outlet before performing any maintenance.
  2. Remove from Aquarium: Carefully detach the pump from the aquarium glass.
  3. Clean Impeller: The impeller is the rotating part inside the pump. Gently twist and pull the front cover to access the impeller. Remove any debris, algae, or calcium buildup from the impeller and its housing using a soft brush or cotton swab.
  4. Clean Suction Cup: Clean the suction cup and the area of the aquarium glass where it attaches to ensure a secure hold.
  5. Reassemble: Carefully reassemble the pump, ensuring all parts fit correctly.
  6. Reinstall: Reinstall the pump in the aquarium and plug it back in.

Frequency: It is recommended to clean the wavemaker pumps at least once a month, or more frequently if you notice reduced flow or increased noise.
