4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Nikon D810, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Cleaning the Camera Body: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the camera body. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution.
- Cleaning the Lens: Use a lens brush to remove dust, then gently wipe with a microfiber lens cloth. For smudges, use a specialized lens cleaning solution.
- Sensor Cleaning: If dust spots appear on your images, the sensor may need cleaning. This is a delicate procedure; it is recommended to have it performed by a qualified Nikon service center.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the camera in a dry, cool place, ideally with a desiccant to prevent mold and mildew. Remove the battery before storage.
