Setup

Initial Winding

As an automatic watch, it is powered by the motion of your wrist. For initial use or after a period of inactivity, manually wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times while it is in position 1 (pushed in). This provides sufficient power reserve to start the movement.

Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown out to position 3.
  2. Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise until the correct time is displayed. Ensure to account for AM/PM if setting the date.
  3. Push the crown back into position 1 to engage the movement.

Setting the Date and Moon Phase

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2.
  2. Rotate the crown clockwise to adjust the date.
  3. Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the moon phase indicator.
  4. Once the date and moon phase are set, push the crown back into position 1.

Note: Avoid setting the date or moon phase between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement. If you need to adjust during this period, first set the time outside this window, then adjust the date/moon phase, and finally reset the time.

Bracelet Adjustment

The stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links to achieve a comfortable fit. This procedure typically requires specialized tools and is best performed by a qualified watchmaker or jeweler to prevent damage to the bracelet or clasp.

Operating Instructions

Automatic Movement

Your Frederique Constant watch is equipped with a Swiss automatic movement. This movement is self-winding, meaning it gains power from the natural motion of your wrist. When worn daily, the watch will maintain its power reserve. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop and require manual winding as described in the 'Initial Winding' section.

Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant to 3 ATM (30 meters / 99 feet). This rating means the watch is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. It is not suitable for swimming, showering, or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean your watch, gently wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, which can damage the finish.

Servicing

Automatic watches require periodic servicing to ensure accuracy and longevity. It is recommended to have your watch inspected and serviced by an authorized Frederique Constant service center every 3-5 years. This includes cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of the movement.
