1. Product Overview

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Battery Installation

The tuner requires one CA123 type battery. To install or replace the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the tuner.
  2. Gently open the cover.
  3. Insert the CA123 battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.2 Attaching the Tuner to Your Instrument

The NS Micro Violin Tuner uses a lever-lock clamp for secure attachment. It is designed to fit standard violin and viola sizes.

  1. Identify a suitable location on the instrument's body, typically near the bridge or f-hole, where the clamp can securely grip without obstructing play or sound.
  2. Open the lever-lock clamp by lifting the lever.
  3. Position the clamp jaws around the edge of the instrument's body. Ensure the rubber pads make contact with the instrument surface to prevent damage.
  4. Close the lever to secure the tuner firmly in place. Do not overtighten.

Note: While the tuner is designed to be discreet, ensure its placement does not interfere with your bowing or finger placement. The clamp's design allows for various attachment points for optimal visibility.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on, press and hold the power button (marked with a circle and vertical line) for approximately 1 second.
  • To power off, press and hold the power button again for approximately 1 second.
  • The tuner features an automatic shut-off function to conserve battery life if no signal is detected for a period.

3.2 Tuning Your Instrument

The NS Micro Violin Tuner uses a Piezo sensor to detect vibrations directly from your instrument, providing accurate tuning even in noisy environments.

  1. Ensure the tuner is powered on and securely attached to your instrument.
  2. Pluck or bow a single string. The tuner's display will show the detected note and indicate whether it is sharp, flat, or in tune.
  3. Adjust your instrument's tuning peg until the display shows the correct note and the indicator is centered, signifying accurate pitch.
  4. Repeat for all strings.

3.3 Calibration (A4 Reference)

The tuner's calibration range is 410-480Hz. To adjust the A4 reference frequency:

  • Press the left or right arrow buttons to increase or decrease the A4 reference frequency.
  • The default setting is typically 440Hz. Adjust as needed to match other instruments or ensemble requirements.

3.4 Screen Orientation

The tuner features a multi-color display with vertical and horizontal screen rotation for optimal viewing angle.

  • Press the rotation button (marked with two arrows forming a circle) to cycle through different screen orientations.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the tuner's exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery: Replace the battery when the display becomes dim or the tuner's performance degrades. Remove the battery if the tuner will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Storage: Store the tuner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Handle the tuner with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.

5. Troubleshooting
