Operating Instructions

ECO Mode Operation

The EVGA Supernova 1200 P2 features an ECO Mode, which allows the power supply fan to remain off during low to moderate loads. This results in completely silent operation when your system is idle or performing less demanding tasks. The fan will automatically activate when the load increases or internal temperatures rise to maintain optimal cooling.

  • ECO Mode OFF: The fan will operate continuously, providing constant cooling regardless of load.

You can toggle the ECO Mode switch located on the rear of the power supply to enable or disable this feature according to your preference.

  • Ventilation: Ensure that your PC case has adequate airflow and that the power supply's intake and exhaust vents are not obstructed.
  • Cable Management: Maintain tidy cable management to promote better airflow and prevent overheating.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your EVGA Supernova 1200 P2 power supply, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  1. System Not Powering On:
    • Ensure the AC power cord is securely connected to both the power supply and the wall outlet.
    • Verify the power switch on the back of the power supply is in the "ON" position.
    • Check all modular cable connections (24-pin ATX, EPS, PCIe, SATA) to ensure they are firmly seated in both the power supply and the respective components.
    • Use the included power supply tester to verify basic functionality of the PSU itself.
  2. System Shuts Down Unexpectedly:
    • This could indicate an overload. Ensure your system's power requirements do not exceed the 1200W capacity of the PSU.
    • Check for proper ventilation and ensure the power supply fan is operating (if ECO mode is off, or under load if ECO mode is on).
    • Verify all internal components are correctly installed and not shorting.
  3. Fan Not Spinning (ECO Mode On):
    • This is normal behavior for ECO Mode at low loads. The fan will activate when needed.
    • If the fan does not spin even under heavy load, try disabling ECO Mode via the switch on the rear of the PSU. If it still doesn't spin, contact support.
  4. Unusual Noises:
    • If you hear grinding or rattling noises, ensure no cables are obstructing the fan.
    • If the noise persists, it may indicate a fan issue. Contact support.
