5. Setup Instructions
5.1 Setting the Current Time
- Locate the rotating dial on the front of the timer. This dial is marked with hours from 1 to 12, with both AM (day icon) and PM (moon icon) indicators.
- Rotate the dial clockwise until the current time aligns with the "TIME NOW" arrow located in the center of the dial. Ensure you set the correct AM/PM time.
5.2 Programming On/Off Times
The outer ring of the dial consists of multiple push-down pins, each representing a 30-minute interval.
- To set a period when the connected device should be ON, push down the corresponding pins for those 30-minute intervals.
- To set a period when the connected device should be OFF, leave the corresponding pins in the UP position.
- For example, if you want a device to turn on at 6:00 PM and turn off at 10:00 PM, push down all the pins from the 6 PM mark to the 10 PM mark.

5.3 Connecting the Timer
- Plug the Defiant Timer directly into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
- Plug the electrical device you wish to control into the outlet on the bottom of the timer.

6. Operating Instructions
Once set up, the timer will automatically turn your connected device on and off according to your programmed schedule. The dial will continuously rotate, indicating the current time.
6.1 Manual Override Switch
The timer features a manual override switch, typically located on the side or bottom of the unit. This switch allows you to temporarily bypass the programmed schedule.
- Timer ON: When the switch is in this position, the timer will follow the programmed on/off cycles.
- Outlet ON: When the switch is in this position, the connected device will remain continuously ON, regardless of the pin settings.
- Outlet OFF: When the switch is in this position, the connected device will remain continuously OFF, regardless of the pin settings.
Remember to return the switch to the "Timer ON" position for the programmed schedule to resume.
7. Maintenance
The Defiant Mechanical Timer requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Wipe the timer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
