Setup
Initial Setup and Admin PIN Creation
- Charge the device: Before initial use, ensure the datAshur Personal is charged by connecting it to a powered USB port for approximately 30-60 minutes. The red LED will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.
- Power On: Press the KEY button once. The red and green LEDs will flash alternately.
- Set Admin PIN: Within 10 seconds, press the KEY button twice. The red LED will be solid. Enter a new Admin PIN (7-15 digits). Press the KEY button. Re-enter the Admin PIN. Press the KEY button again. A solid green LED indicates successful Admin PIN creation. If the red LED flashes, the PINs did not match or the process timed out; repeat from step 2.
Unlocking the Drive for First Use
- Connect the drive to a USB port.
- Press the KEY button. The red and green LEDs will flash alternately.
- Enter your Admin PIN.
- Press the KEY button. A solid green LED indicates the drive is unlocked and ready for use. The drive will appear as a removable storage device on your computer.
