1. Introduction

4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Rack Mounting

4.2. Power Connection

1. Connect the integrated 10-foot, 12-gauge power cord from the P-8 PRO C to a dedicated 20-amp, 120-volt AC grounded electrical outlet. If a 20-amp receptacle is not available, use a Furman ADP-1520B adapter.
2. Ensure the main power switch on the front panel of the P-8 PRO C is in the OFF position before connecting any equipment.

4.3. Connecting Equipment

Plug your audio, video, or electronic equipment into the 8 rear-panel outlets and the 1 front-panel convenience outlet. Utilize the wide spacing of the rear outlets for larger power adapters. For critical equipment, consider using the security strapping to prevent accidental unplugging.

4.4. Optional Gooseneck Lights

If desired, connect optional Furman GN-LED or GN-I gooseneck lights to the BNC connector on the rear panel for rack illumination.

5. Operation

5.1. Powering On/Off

Once all equipment is connected, flip the main power switch on the front panel to the ON position. The P-8 PRO C will power on, and connected equipment will receive conditioned and protected power.

5.2. Indicator Lights

• Protection OK (Green LED): This indicator illuminates green when the SMP circuit is active and providing surge protection. If this light is off, the unit's surge protection has been compromised, and the unit should be serviced.
• Extreme Voltage (Red LED): This indicator illuminates red when the incoming voltage exceeds safe operating levels (above 137 volts). The EVS circuit will shut down power to connected equipment until the voltage returns to a safe range.

6. Maintenance

The Furman P-8 PRO C is designed for reliable, maintenance-free operation. No user-serviceable parts are inside. For cleaning, disconnect the unit from the power source and wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. No Power to Outlets

• Check the main power switch on the front panel to ensure it is in the ON position.
• Verify that the P-8 PRO C is securely plugged into a functioning 20-amp wall outlet.
• Check the circuit breaker on the P-8 PRO C (usually located near the power cord input) and reset if tripped.
• If the 'Extreme Voltage' indicator is lit, the incoming voltage is too high. The unit will automatically restore power when conditions normalize.
• If the 'Protection OK' indicator is off, the surge protection circuit may be compromised. Discontinue use and contact Furman support.

7.2. Audio/Video Noise

• Ensure all equipment is properly grounded.
• Check for loose cable connections.
