This manual provides detailed instructions for the operation and maintenance of your Craig CD6962-BLS CD Boombox. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper function and to maximize your listening experience.

Setup
Power Source
The CD Boombox can be powered by either AC power or DC batteries.
- AC Operation: Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC IN jack located on the back of the unit, then plug the other end into a standard AC wall outlet (120V~60Hz).
- DC Operation (Batteries): For portable use, insert 6 x "C" size batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. Ensure correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
Note: Disconnect the AC power cord when operating on batteries to prevent potential damage or interference.
Antenna
For optimal FM radio reception, fully extend the telescopic FM antenna. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in AM antenna, which may require rotating the unit for best signal.

Control Panel Overview

- SOURCE Button: Press to switch between CD, Bluetooth, AM/FM Radio, and AUX modes.
- MODE PROG/MEM Button: Used for programming CD tracks or storing radio stations.
- VOLUME -/+ Buttons: Adjust the audio output level.
- SKIP/TUN -/+ Buttons: Skip tracks in CD/Bluetooth mode or tune radio frequencies in AM/FM mode.
- PLAY/PAUSE Button: Start or pause playback in CD/Bluetooth mode.
- STOP/M+ Button: Stop playback in CD/Bluetooth mode or recall stored radio stations.
CD Playback
- Press the SOURCE button until "CD" appears on the display.
- Open the CD compartment lid by gently lifting it.
- Place a CD (label side up) onto the spindle and close the lid.
- The CD will begin playing automatically. If not, press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
- Use the SKIP/TUN -/+ buttons to navigate between tracks.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause playback, press again to resume.
- Press the STOP/M+ button to stop playback.
Programming CD Tracks: While in STOP mode, press MODE PROG/MEM. "PROG" will flash. Use SKIP/TUN -/+ to select a track, then press MODE PROG/MEM to confirm. Repeat for up to 20 tracks. Press PLAY/PAUSE to start programmed playback.
Bluetooth Pairing
- Press the SOURCE button until "BT" (Bluetooth) appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing "BT".
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or other audio device and search for available devices.
- Select "CD6962-BLS" from the list of devices.
- Once paired, the "BT" indicator will stop flashing and a confirmation tone may sound.
- You can now play audio from your connected device through the boombox. Use the PLAY/PAUSE and SKIP/TUN -/+ buttons on the boombox or your device to control playback.
AM/FM Radio Operation
- Press the SOURCE button until "AM" or "FM" appears on the display.
- Extend the FM telescopic antenna for better reception. For AM, rotate the unit.
- Manual Tuning: Press the SKIP/TUN -/+ buttons repeatedly to adjust the frequency step by step.
- Automatic Tuning: Press and hold the SKIP/TUN -/+ buttons for a few seconds to automatically scan for the next available station.
- Storing Stations (Memory):
- Tune to your desired station.
- Press the MODE PROG/MEM button. "P01" (or the next available preset number) will flash on the display.
- Use the SKIP/TUN -/+ buttons to select the desired preset number.
- Press MODE PROG/MEM again to confirm and save the station.
- Recalling Stored Stations: Press the STOP/M+ button repeatedly to cycle through your stored preset stations.
Auxiliary Input (AUX IN)
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the AUX IN jack on the boombox.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone).
- Press the SOURCE button until "AUX" appears on the display.
- Play audio from your external device. Control playback and volume primarily from your external device, adjusting the boombox's volume as needed.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Unit: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- CD Lens Care: If the CD lens becomes dirty, use a commercially available CD lens cleaner. Avoid touching the lens directly.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
