Fault Finding

The remote's current measurement feature is crucial for fault finding. A significant drop in current along a fence line indicates a fault (e.g., a short circuit or break) between the previous measurement point and the current one. Systematically move along the fence, taking readings to pinpoint the exact location of the fault.

Remote Energizer Control

For compatible i Series and MX7500 energizers, the remote allows you to turn the energizer off or on from a distance. This feature is particularly useful for safely repairing faults without returning to the energizer's location.

  • Ensure the remote is within range of the compatible energizer.
  • Press the 'i' button (information/control button) to access energizer control options.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to switch the energizer off or on.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the unit with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water. Ensure the contact points are clean for accurate readings.

Battery Replacement

Replace the 9V battery when the low battery indicator appears on the display or if the unit fails to power on. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for replacement steps.

Storage

Store the remote in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the battery to prevent leakage.
