Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure safe and optimal operation.

2. Safety Precautions
To prevent injury or damage to the appliance, always observe the following safety guidelines:
- Ensure the power supply voltage matches the rating indicated on the appliance (120V).
- Do not immerse the main unit, power cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
- Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
- Do not operate the appliance if the power cord or plug is damaged.
- Always unplug the appliance when not in use, before cleaning, or if a malfunction occurs.

4. Setup
Before first use, follow these steps:
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Clean: Wash the inner pot, Tacook cooking tray, spatula, and measuring cup with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
- Placement: Place the rice cooker on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V electrical outlet.
5. Operating Instructions
The JBV-A10U features four automated cooking settings: Plain Rice, Brown Rice, Synchro-Cooking, and Slow Cook/Steam. Always use the provided measuring cup for rice and water to ensure optimal results.

5.1. Cooking Plain Rice
- Measure the desired amount of rice using the provided measuring cup. Rinse the rice thoroughly until the water runs clear.
- Place the rinsed rice into the inner pot. Add water up to the corresponding water level mark inside the inner pot for the amount of rice used.
- Place the inner pot into the main unit and close the lid securely.
- Press the Plain button. The cooking indicator will illuminate, and cooking will begin automatically.
- Once cooking is complete, the cooker will switch to the Keep Warm function automatically. The Keep Warm indicator will light up.
- Fluff the rice with the spatula and serve.
5.2. Cooking Brown Rice
- Measure the desired amount of brown rice using the provided measuring cup. Rinse the brown rice.
- Place the rinsed brown rice into the inner pot. Add water up to the corresponding water level mark for brown rice inside the inner pot.
- Place the inner pot into the main unit and close the lid securely.
- Press the Brown button. The cooking indicator will illuminate, and cooking will begin. Brown rice typically takes longer to cook than plain rice.
- After cooking, the cooker will automatically switch to Keep Warm.
- Fluff the rice and serve.
5.3. Tacook Synchronized Cooking
The Tacook function allows you to cook rice and a main dish simultaneously without flavor transfer.

- Prepare rice in the inner pot as described for Plain Rice (Section 5.1).
- Prepare your main dish ingredients and place them in the Tacook cooking tray. Ensure ingredients are cut into appropriate sizes for steaming.
- Carefully place the Tacook cooking tray on top of the inner pot.
- Close the lid securely.
- Press the Synchro-cooking button. The cooking indicator will illuminate.
- Once cooking is complete, the cooker will switch to Keep Warm. Remove the Tacook tray carefully using oven mitts, then fluff and serve the rice.
5.4. Slow Cook and Steam
This setting is ideal for slow-cooked dishes or steaming without rice.
- For slow cooking, place ingredients directly into the inner pot. For steaming, place ingredients in the Tacook cooking tray with water in the inner pot.
- Close the lid securely.
- Press the Slow Cook / Steam button.
- Monitor cooking progress as needed. The cooker will maintain a consistent temperature for slow cooking or steam until the water evaporates.
- When finished, press Off/Cancel and unplug the unit.
5.5. Keep Warm Function
After cooking, the appliance automatically enters the Keep Warm mode for up to 12 hours, maintaining the rice at an optimal serving temperature. To cancel, press the Off/Cancel button.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and performance of your rice cooker. Always unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Inner Pot and Tacook Tray: These are scratch-resistant but should only be cleaned with a soft sponge and mild dish soap. Hand wash only. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal utensils, as this can damage the non-stick coating.
- Spatula and Measuring Cup: Wash with warm, soapy water.
- Main Unit Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Inner Lid: The inner lid is not removable. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth after each use to remove any food residue or condensation.
- Steam Vent: Ensure the steam vent is clear of any blockages.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your rice cooker, refer to the following common solutions:
