1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your Thule AeroBlade Edge Raised Rail Rack (Model 7503B). The Thule AeroBlade Edge is designed to provide a low-profile, aerodynamic roof rack solution for vehicles with raised factory side rails, offering strong carrying capacity for various accessories.

2. Setup and Installation
The Thule AeroBlade Edge system is pre-assembled for quick and easy installation on vehicles equipped with raised factory side rails. Please ensure you have the correct bar lengths for your vehicle; some vehicles may require different lengths for front and rear bars.
2.1 Unpacking and Inspection
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Verify that all included components are present: 1 raised rail bar and the AcuTight Tensioning Tool.
- Inspect all parts for any signs of damage. Do not proceed with installation if any damage is found; contact Thule support.
2.2 Attaching to Raised Rails
- Position the AeroBlade Edge bar onto your vehicle's raised side rails. The integrated foot system is designed to clamp securely around the rail.
- Use the included AcuTight Tensioning Tool to tighten the rack to the vehicle. The tool indicates when the rack is safely and properly attached, ensuring optimal security and stability.
- Repeat the process for the second bar if you are installing a complete system (note: this product is sold as 1 bar per pack).
- Ensure both bars are parallel and correctly spaced according to your vehicle's specifications or the accessory you intend to mount.

2.3 Important Considerations
- Sun Roof Clearance: Due to the low-profile design of the AeroBlade Edge, it may not be possible to fully open your vehicle's sun roof when the racks are installed. Always check for clearance before opening your sun roof to prevent damage.
- Security: For enhanced security, Thule One-Key locks (sold separately) can be integrated into the rack system to secure it to your vehicle.
- Quantity: Please note that the Thule AeroBlade Edge is sold as one bar per pack. Most applications require two bars for a complete roof rack system. Consult the Thule Buyer's Guide for your specific vehicle's requirements.
3. Operation
Once installed, your Thule AeroBlade Edge rack is ready to carry a variety of Thule accessories, such as bike carriers, ski carriers, kayak carriers, and cargo boxes. The rack features an upper T-track for fast installation and removal of these accessories.
3.1 Loading Capacity
The maximum load capacity for the Thule AeroBlade Edge is 165 lb (75 kg). Always adhere to this limit and your vehicle's manufacturer's recommended roof load capacity, whichever is lower. Distribute the load evenly across the bars.
3.2 Using the T-Track
The integrated T-track on the top of the AeroBlade Edge bar allows for seamless attachment of compatible Thule accessories. Simply slide the accessory's T-bolt into the track and secure it according to the accessory's instructions. Some carriers may require a Thule Xadapt kit for proper fitment.

3.3 Aerodynamic Design
The AeroBlade Edge incorporates WindDiffuser technology and a TrailEdge design to minimize wind noise and drag, contributing to improved fuel economy. While designed to be quiet, some minimal wind noise may be noticeable at higher speeds, especially without cargo.
4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Thule AeroBlade Edge rack.
- Check Tightness: Periodically check the tightness of the mounting hardware, especially after the first few uses and before long trips. Re-tighten with the AcuTight Tensioning Tool if necessary.
- Cleaning: Clean the rack with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Lubrication: If any moving parts feel stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant.
- Storage: If removing the rack for extended periods, store it in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Excessive Wind Noise | Incorrect installation; accessories not properly secured; natural aerodynamic noise. | Ensure the rack is installed correctly and tightened. Verify accessories are securely mounted. Some minimal noise is inherent to roof racks. |
| Rack feels loose after installation | Insufficient tightening; settling of components. | Re-tighten the rack using the AcuTight Tensioning Tool until the indicator shows proper tension. Check periodically. |
| Sun roof cannot open fully | Low-profile design of the rack. | This is an expected characteristic. Always check clearance before opening your sun roof. |
| Missing parts upon delivery | Packaging error or damage during transit. | Contact your retailer or Thule customer support immediately with proof of purchase. |
