Product Overview

The Oster Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt, & Sorbet Maker is designed for convenient preparation of homemade frozen desserts. It features a 1.5-quart capacity freezer bowl and a wide ingredient feeder for easy use.

Setup and Assembly

  1. Prepare the Freezer Bowl: Before first use, and for each subsequent use, ensure the freezer bowl is completely frozen. Place the empty freezer bowl in the freezer for a minimum of 24 hours. The bowl must be thoroughly frozen for proper dessert consistency.
  2. Assemble the Unit: Place the frozen freezer bowl into the base of the ice cream maker. Position the mixing paddle inside the freezer bowl, ensuring it sits correctly on the center post.
  3. Attach the Lid: Place the transparent lid onto the base, aligning the tabs and twisting to secure it in place. Ensure the lid is firmly locked before operation.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to prepare your frozen desserts:

  1. Prepare Your Mixture: Prepare your desired ice cream, frozen yogurt, or sorbet mixture according to your recipe. Ensure the mixture is chilled in the refrigerator before adding it to the machine.
  2. Start the Machine: Plug in the appliance. The mixing paddle will begin to rotate.
  3. Add Mixture: Slowly pour the chilled mixture through the wide ingredient feeder opening in the lid while the machine is running. Do not overfill; the mixture will expand as it freezes. The maximum capacity is 1.5 quarts.

  1. Churning Process: Allow the machine to churn for approximately 20-40 minutes, or until the desired consistency is reached. The churning time may vary based on the recipe and initial temperature of the mixture.
  2. Add Solid Ingredients: If adding solid ingredients like fruit, nuts, or chocolate chips, do so during the last 5 minutes of churning through the ingredient feeder.

  1. Serving: Once churning is complete, unplug the machine. Remove the lid and mixing paddle. Transfer the frozen dessert to an airtight container for immediate serving or for further hardening in the freezer.
